Company Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Security Technician to join our growing team in Austin, Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and service of electronic security systems across data centers, commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and government facilities.
This role serves as a technical leader in the field, providing guidance and support to junior technicians, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and integrated security systems, along with exceptional customer service skills.
This role requires occasional travel to customer sites and project locations.
Job Description
  • Install, configure, test, and commission electronic security systems, including:
  • Access Control Systems
  • CCTV / IP Video Surveillance Systems
  • Intrusion Detection Systems
  • Intercom and Visitor Management Systems
  • Integrated Security Platforms
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Lead field installations and service projects from inception through completion.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Security Technicians and Apprentices.
  • Program and troubleshoot security hardware and software platforms.
  • Diagnose and resolve system faults, connectivity issues, and equipment failures.
  • Conduct site surveys and assist with project planning and implementation.
  • Ensure all installations comply with applicable codes, customer requirements, and company standards.
  • Complete service reports, project documentation, and as-built drawings accurately and promptly.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, customers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Perform system upgrades, expansions, preventative maintenance, and service calls.
  • Support after-hours emergency service and on-call rotations as required.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company positively at customer sites.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and all OSHA safety requirements.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum 5+ years of experience installing and servicing commercial electronic security systems.
Strong working knowledge of Gallagher, Software House, Genea, and/or Genetec experience is preferred but not required
Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Ability to pass background checks and obtain security clearances as required.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications
