Job description

We are looking for an experienced and strategic VP of Enginnering who will assist in leading the vision and strategy for software engineering and DevOps as well as act as a senior leader across the organization. The VP of Engineering is responsible for leading, training, and developing a fast-moving team and working at all levels of the organization to meet shared goals and foster collaboration.

LOCATION: The position is on-site in the Englewood Office. To be considered for this position, you must be local to the Denver Area, or moving to the Denver Area. Relocation assistance is not provided.

What you'll do:
  • Assist in leading the vision and strategy for software engineering in support of iLending software products.
  • Lead the Software Engineering and DevOps teams. Manage daily operations of the department.
  • Work across the organization with all levels of leadership to meet shared goals and foster collaboration.
  • Champion software engineering best practices including but not limited to: design, architecture, code re-use, performance, testing, quality, and scalability.
  • Ensure that product architecture and technology decisions support emerging trends, business strategies, and future direction of products. Provide technical & functional guidance.
  • Manage team objectives, policies, process, and budget for short & long-term roadmap.
  • Work closely with engineers and staff to implement best technical designs/approaches for current/new products.
  • Lead DevOps and Test Driven Development process. Champion the culture, processes, and tools required to maintain a low-friction high-quality software engineering environment.
  • Manage vendors and outsourced relationships, including selection, performance, relationship management, and scalability.
  • Lead department recruitment and retainment, goal setting/performance, education/training, and career growth.
  • Team mentor and coach.

What you bring to the table:
  • Excellent leadership, project management, and coaching skills.
  • Proven ability to succeed with minimal guidance. Manage multiple time-constrained priorities simultaneously.
  • Deep understanding of .NET, React, or other front-end / back-end languages and frameworks as well as API architecture.
  • Conversant in common Internet technologies and protocols (HTTP, SSL, OAuth, REST, JSON, XML, etc).
  • Experience launching high-performance and scalable services and applications.
  • Experience in modern build and release practices, Agile, and DevOps
  • Strong proficiency in database systems and design.
  • Highly organized, adaptable and flexible.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization.
  • Great at developing efficient processes that reduce friction, increase velocity and quality, and deliver great user experiences.

SALARY & BENEFITS:
  • Base Annual salary of $150,000 - $175,000
  • Full-time positions are benefits-eligible the first month after 30 days of employment, which includes:
