The VP of Finance Transformation and Operations COE is responsible for overseeing the Finance Transformation program and daily finance operations for AR/AP/Credit at Sysco Business Services.
The role is accountable for defining and executing the enterprise strategy for Finance Transformation, Sysco Business Services integration, and operational excellence, ensuring alignment with Sysco's long-term business strategy, digital roadmap, and growth objectives.
He/ she will lead the finance transformation program for Sysco to integrate all prior and future acquisitions into a standard SBS enabled operating model and common system platforms.
This executive will champion the modernization of finance operations through intelligent automation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), advanced analytics, enterprise data governance, and scalable operating models that enhance efficiency, strengthen internal controls, improve stakeholder experience, and accelerate business value realization.
The role requires extensive knowledge of finance, accounting, and business operations, as well as strong leadership and project management skills.
The successful candidate will serve as a strategic business partner to Finance, Information Technology, Sysco Business Services, and executive leadership, driving enterprise-wide transformation initiatives while fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, accountability and operational excellence.
The role involves:
  • Management of core service delivery of all the operational KPIs and targeted business outcomes within the A/R, Credit and A/P functions.
  • Development and implementation of financial processes and controls. Also, driving compliance with accounting standards and regulations, while always focused on driving initiatives, data analytics and insights to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the finance teams to best-in-class levels.
  • Monitoring customer and vendor experience and leveraging internal/external stakeholders' feedback across end-to-end processes to drive improvement.
  • Driving enterprise operating model standardization across acquired businesses by integrating finance processes, governance frameworks, technology platforms, and shared services capabilities while accelerating synergy realization and long-term value creation.
  • Managing a global team of over 500 comprised of Sysco colleagues and third-party providers (across campuses in India, USA and Cost Rica) to drive improved levels of engagement and retention.
  • Partnering closely with Finance, IT, Procurement, Internal Audit, Tax, Treasury, Commercial Finance, and business leaders to continuously optimize end-to-end finance processes, strengthen governance, and improve organizational effectiveness across the enterprise.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the long-term strategic vision, operating model, and multi-year roadmap for Finance Transformation and Finance Operations, ensuring alignment with Sysco's enterprise priorities, financial objectives, digital strategy, and long-term growth agenda.
  • Lead the planning and execution of the finance transformation program, including the implementation of Workday Financials and related tools to streamline reporting and eliminate manual work.
  • Provide executive level sponsorship for enterprise finance transformation initiatives, ensuring successful program governance, executive alignment, resource prioritization, value realization, and measurable business outcomes across multiple functions and geographies.
  • Establish executive governance structures, steering committees, transformation scorecards, and performance metrics to monitor program execution, manage risks, and ensure delivery of strategic objectives.
  • Lead the responsible adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI), intelligent automation, predictive analytics, and emerging technologies digital capabilities to improve operational efficiency, strengthen financial controls, reduce manual effort, enhance colleague experience, and enable faster, data-driven decision-making.
  • Lead operational teams (A/R, Credit and A/P) in the delivery of their core process metrics - KPIs, SLAs. Measure, monitor and drive continuous improvement in the effectiveness of all the operational processes.
  • Oversee third-party service providers and strategic vendor relationships, establishing performance expectations, governance frameworks, service level agreements, and continuous improvement initiatives that maximize operational value and service quality.
  • Champion a customer-centric culture focused on delivering exceptional service experiences for internal business partners, suppliers, customers, and acquired businesses while continuously improving end-to-end finance processes.
  • Build organizational capability through succession planning, leadership development, coaching, talent assessment, and employee engagement initiatives that strengthen the long-term leadership pipeline within Sysco Business Services.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, internal controls, audit requirements, enterprise risk management practices, and corporate governance standards while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership by providing strategic recommendations, transformation updates, operational insights, and data-driven perspectives that support enterprise decision-making and long-term shareholder value creation.

Education Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

Education Preferred:
  • Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration (MBA), Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.

Experience Required:
  • 8-10+ years in Finance/Accounting/ Finance transformation, Finance operations or related field with Managerial Experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale Finance Transformation, Finance Shared Services, Global Business Services (GBS), or Finance Operations organizations within complex, multi-site, multinational environments.
  • Proven success developing and executing large-scale business transformation initiatives, including operating model redesign, process standardization, ERP implementations, and organizational change management.
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), workflow automation, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies to improve operational performance and business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating acquired businesses into standardized finance operating models, governance frameworks, shared services organizations, and enterprise technology platforms.
  • Experience leading large global teams across multiple geographic regions while successfully managing outsourced service providers, strategic partnerships, and cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong executive leadership experience influencing senior business leaders, driving enterprise change, and building high-performing organizations through coaching, succession planning, and talent development.
  • Experience implementing and optimizing ERP platforms (e.g., Workday Financials, SAP, Oracle, or similar enterprise finance technologies) and supporting finance modernization initiatives is strongly preferred.

Licenses/Certifications Preferred:
  • CPA, CFA or MBA
  • Professional certifications in Lean Six Sigma, Project Management (PMP), Change Management (Prosci), Data Analytics, or Digital Transformation are considered a plus.
