Position DescriptionThe Vice President of Human Resources serves as a senior executive responsible for overseeing all aspects of the human resources function within the college. This includes managing talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and HR strategy. The VP of HR works closely with executive leadership to align HR initiatives with the overall strategic plan, ensuring that the organization attracts, develops, and retains top talent. This role requires a deep understanding of both the operational and strategic facets of human resources, along with strong leadership and communication skills.

*Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, advising on workforce trends, labor relations, and organizational effectiveness.
*Lead the development and implementation of HR strategies and partner with other executives to ensure alignment with the college's strategic goals.
*Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to promote a high-quality talent pool.
*Oversee compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain top talent.
*Develop and lead initiatives to enhance employee development, training, and succession planning.
*Oversee performance management driving high performance.
*Oversee conflict management, investigation of complaints, and allegations of inappropriate employee behavior.
*Oversee implementation and utilization of a Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and leveraging of AI and other automation tools in collaboration with ITS.
*Oversee compliance with labor laws and regulations, mitigating risks related to employment practices.
Use predictive analytics to anticipate workforce trends and inform strategic planning.
Develop and lead an HR analytics strategy to support data-driven decision-making.
Monitor key metrics such as turnover, retention, diversity, time-to-fill, and employee engagement.
Nurture a healthy and positive workplace culture.
Provide regular reports and insights to executive leadership and the Board of Trustees.
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Strong ethical standards and high level of integrity
Proven track record of implementing HR strategies that drive results
Strong knowledge of HR-related compliance and legislative requirements
Experience in change management and organizational development
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects concurrently
Proficiency with HR software and tools
Proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization and foster conflict resolution
Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree and current SPHR certification or master's degree in human resources management, public or business administration, or related field
Ten years of senior-level experience leading a complex Human Resources Department
Experience working in an organization with over 1000 employees
Preferences:Experience working in a higher education or non-profit setting
Expertise in data analytics and leveraging AI and automation tools
