Job Description:

Reporting to the Head of Business Management for Global Research, the VP - Global Research Business Management at TD Securities is responsible for driving strategic initiatives across Global Research, with a particular focus on AI technology enablement, data productization, and client strategy. The successful candidate will act as a key partner to Global Research, Technology, and Sales teams to enhance tech platform capabilities and usage in workflow, unlock the value of proprietary data assets, own strategy for client data access and monetization, and strengthen client engagement across the franchise through implementation of more systematic approaches to analytics and tracking.

The VP Trading Business Management TDS is responsible to provide the leadership team with information, reporting and support to ensure Trading operational risks are appropriately managed and adherence to internal policies / procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines is effective. This position also works with management / control function partners (e.g. Risk, Legal, Compliance, AML and Audit) to assess risks, develop and implement proactive strategies, tactics and programs to effectively manage regulatory and governance issues for the Trader environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Global Research Technology Leadership
  • Serve as the business lead for core Global Research technology platforms, including AI and CRM tools and analytics platforms
  • Act as the primary liaison with Technology teams within TD Securities and TD Bank to define requirements, prioritize enhancements, and influence product roadmaps
  • Drive optimization of Global Research workflows with an emphasis on AI tools and efficiency
  • Play a lead role in the development and execution of the Global Research AI strategy, including:
    • Identifying and prioritizing AI tools and use cases
    • Driving adoption of AI-enabled tools to enhance analyst productivity and client insights
    • Partnering with Technology and Vendor Management to onboard and implement scalable AI vendor solutions
  • Global Research Data Productization
  • Help lead the development and execution of strategies to commercialize and scale Research data assets
  • Identify and package high-value datasets into structured, marketable products
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance to ensure appropriate use and distribution of data
  • Collaborate with Sales & Trading to integrate data products into client offerings and drive revenue growth
  • Establish metrics to track product adoption, usage, and financial performance
  • Client Strategy & Engagement
  • Help develop and execute the Global Research client strategy, including segmentation, targeting, and coverage models
  • Develop enhanced tools and tracking to leverage broker vote data and drive performance in client broker vote rankings
  • Analyze client behavior and engagement trends to inform strategic decisions
  • Deliver management reporting on client engagement, performance metrics, and competitive positioning

Depth & Scope:

  • Leads and manages the Trader business management functional area and overall operation of a diverse group in an area of moderate risk, complexity or scope
  • Ensures an integrated approach with other business management areas, broader organization, and enterprise as appropriate
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of businesses / technology, and organizational practices/ disciplines
  • Focuses on short to medium-term issues (e.g. 6-12 months)
  • Generally reports to a Senior Manager or above

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business (Accounting or Finance) or Mathematics/Economics
  • Series 7 and 63
  • 5-7 Years of related experience
  • Sound to advanced knowledge of external competition, industry and/or market trends in relation to own function / business
  • Ability to provide guidance on Business Management matters and respond to inquiries from business unit staff
  • Must be detail oriented and possess problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and establish priorities
  • Proficient in interpersonal communication (both oral and written), and have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specific experience in Global Research operations, workflows, and distribution models is a plus
  • Experience in technology platform management, AI strategy, data strategy, or client/coverage strategy
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to maintain an owner's mentality
