Job description

What We Need
Corpay is currently looking to hire a Vice President of Technology within our Payments division. This position falls under our Corporate Payables line of business and can be based out of either Atlanta, GA or Brentwood, TN. The Commercial Card & API Platform team operates within Corpay's Corporate Payments segment and powers the payment infrastructure for our commercial card and accounts payable automation solutions. Our extensive network of channel partners integrates through our APIs to seamlessly issue, manage, and optimize card programs.
As Vice President of Technology for the Commercial Card & API Platform, you will lead the technical vision, execution, and evolution of the core card platform and API layer that powers Corpay's fastest-growing business line. You'll oversee geographically distributed, Agile engineering teams responsible for commercial card processing systems, API delivery, partner integrations, and platform services - ensuring reliability, scalability, and innovation across the ecosystem.
This executive role requires a hands-on technology leader who can translate strategy into outcomes - partnering with business, product, and operational leaders to deliver world-class payment and integration capabilities that power Corpay's North American network.
How We Work:
As a VP of Technology, you will be expected to work out of our office in either Atlanta, GA or Brentwood, TN. Corpay will set you up for success by providing:
  • Assigned workspace in our Atlanta or Brentwood office
  • Company-issued equipment

Role Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the role will include:
  • Owning engineering execution across platform development, including roadmap alignment, sprint velocity, release predictability, and quality KPIs.
  • Ensuring Agile and iterative delivery practices are effectively applied across teams through engineering leadership, coaching, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Empowering Engineering Managers and Scrum Masters to run effective teams while holding them accountable to clear delivery metrics and business objectives.
  • Removing structural impediments to velocity and quality by advocating for tooling, process improvements, and technical investments.
  • Defining and evolving a scalable, cloud-native architecture for Corpay's card issuing and transacting platform, and the APIs that enable its integration with partners and products.
  • Guiding the ongoing migration of legacy systems to modern, cloud-native architectures while ensuring stability of critical on-prem platforms during transition.
  • Advancing modernization efforts, including microservices, event-driven design, and infrastructure-as-code adoption.
  • Promoting a platform-first mindset that enables internal and external developers to build and integrate efficiently through secure, well-documented APIs.
  • Ensuring systems meet standards for compliance, observability, and operational excellence within regulated financial environments.
  • Leading and grow a talented, distributed engineering organization with a strong culture of trust, collaboration, and ownership.
  • Supporting career development, coaching, and succession planning for technical leaders across locations.
  • Fostering a values-driven engineering culture that thrives on feedback, transparency, and continuous learning.
  • Working closely with General Managers, Product, Operations, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of technical delivery with customer and commercial goals.
  • Contributing to strategic planning cycles and ensure team and individual goals are aligned with broader business objectives.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • 10+ years in engineering leadership roles, with 5+ years in executive or senior leadership (e.g., Director, VP).
  • Proven success delivering large-scale, cloud-based platforms with complex integrations and API ecosystems.
  • Deep expertise in API architecture, microservices, and cloud technologies (preferably AWS), with the ability to engage the team in design discussions to ensure scalable, well-architected solutions through strong technical leadership.
  • Demonstrated success driving modern engineering practices - including continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), test automation, and DevOps adoption - to achieve speed, reliability, and quality at scale.
  • Experience building enterprise-grade platforms in regulated industries such as payments, fintech, or financial services.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead distributed teams and deliver consistent results across time zones.
  • Experience with API management, partner onboarding, and developer experience platforms.
  • Familiarity with emerging AI-powered development tools (e.g., generative coding, automated testing, CI/CD intelligence).
  • Prior experience in FinTech, payments, or enterprise spend management software.
  • Knowledge of data privacy, security standards, and compliance frameworks.
  • Results-driven leader who balances strategy with execution and accountability.
  • Influencer and culture builder-able to set expectations, inspire teams, and build alignment across the organization.
  • Strong communicator with a collaborative mindset and customer-first orientation.
