Job description

Position Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Field Service Engineer to serve as the technical face of our company for our US-based clients. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of our advanced AGV and automation systems.


Because our global engineering and manufacturing hubs are closely integrated, this role requires bilingual fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese. You will act as a critical technical bridge between our US clients and our overseas engineering teams. Additionally, this role involves initial and ongoing technical training, which will require international travel to our facilities in China.


Key Responsibilities
● System Deployment: Lead the on-site installation, integration, and commissioning of AGV systems,
robotics, and automated material handling equipment at client facilities.
● Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Perform complex electromechanical troubleshooting, diagnostics, and
preventative maintenance to ensure maximum system uptime and reliability.
● Client Support: Conduct comprehensive user training for client operators and maintenance staff; serve
as the primary on-site technical contact during deployment.
● Cross-Border Collaboration: Communicate technical feedback, bug reports, and hardware/software issues clearly to our R&D and engineering teams based in China.
● Documentation: Generate detailed, accurate service reports, expense reports, and site-acceptance testing (SAT) documentation in a timely manner.
● Continuous Improvement: Participate in rigorous technical training sessions (both in the US and
internationally) to stay current on product updates and new automation technologies.


Required Qualifications
● Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. (Please note: We are unable to provide employer sponsorship for this role).
● Language Skills: Professional working proficiency in both English and Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written) is required to collaborate effectively with our global engineering teams and navigate technical documentation.
● Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,
Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related technical field; OR equivalent combination of education and hands-on field service experience.


Technical Skills:
○ Proven experience troubleshooting complex electrical, mechanical, and software issues.
○ Familiarity with industrial automation components, such as PLCs, sensors, servos, and motor controls.
○ Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints.


Travel Requirements:

Must possess a valid driver’s license and a valid passport. Willingness to travel extensively within the US and the ability to travel internationally to China for periodic, immersive technical training.


Preferred Qualifications
● Previous experience specifically working with Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), or automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS).
● Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) or network configuration (Wi-Fi, Linux-based systems).

● Strong customer-facing skills with a proven track record of managing on-site client relationships during high-pressure system rollouts.
