Job description

About Machina Labs:

Engineering moves at software speed. Manufacturing doesn't. Yet.

Machina Labs is changing that. We build intelligent, software-defined factories that produce complex metal structures directly from digital design. By integrating advanced metal forming, robotics, and automated production inside a flexible factory architecture, we enable customers to move from prototype to production in weeks, not years.

Backed by Lockheed Martin, Toyota, and NVIDIA, we're building the manufacturing infrastructure that defense, aerospace, and advanced mobility programs will run on.

If you want to work on hard problems that matter and see them fly, drive, and defend, this is the place.

Job Description:

Machina Labs is seeking a Vice President of Marketing to lead and scale our marketing organization during a defining stage of growth. As VP of Marketing, you will build upon an existing foundation and team, evolving the function into a scalable, high-performance organization aligned with our post Series C ambitions.

This is a strategic and hands on leadership role requiring both vision and execution. You will elevate our brand, sharpen our positioning, and expand our market presence, particularly across Defense while continuing to grow strategic Automotive partnerships. You will refine our market narrative, strengthen our goโ€‘toโ€‘market engine, and build brand authority across enterprise and government audiences.

The ideal candidate has built marketing organizations earlier in their career and now excels at professionalizing and scaling them without sacrificing speed, creativity, or startup intensity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and scale Machina Labsโ€™ presence within the Defense sector, building credibility with Defense Primes and government stakeholders.
  • Strengthen positioning and engagement with leading Automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Own and continuously refine company level positioning, messaging architecture, and narrative.
  • Scale marketing capabilities across brand, content, public relations, events, digital, field marketing, and demand generation.
  • Lead, develop, and expand the existing marketing organization.
  • Drive high impact campaigns to increase awareness across strategic global accounts.
  • Partner cross functionally with Sales, Business Development, Product, and Executive Leadership to support long cycle enterprise and government sales.
  • Maintain hands on involvement from strategy through execution.
Required Background & Experience:
  • 15 or more years of progressive marketing leadership experience, including Vice President level responsibility.
  • Proven experience leading marketing within the Defense sector.
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling marketing organizations in Series B, Series C, or later stage companies.
  • Experience owning positioning for complex, mission critical technologies.
  • Experience supporting long cycle enterprise and government sales environments.
  • Hands on, collaborative leadership style with the ability to operate effectively in a fast paced, high growth environment.
  • Strong interest in defense, advanced manufacturing, and industrial technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience marketing to Automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Background in advanced manufacturing, robotics, AI, or industrial hardware.
  • Experience marketing large scale or capital-intensive systems.
  • Preferred residence in California, specifically the Los Angeles metro area, or the Washington, DC metropolitan area to support cross functional collaboration and government engagement.
