Vice President of Finance

Progressive Careers & Housing (PCH) has been dedicated to helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities live with dignity, independence, and opportunity for more than 30 years. PCH provides a continuum of integrated residential and day training services across Northern, Central, and Southern Illinois. Its housing options include 16-bed Intermediate Care Facilities (ICFs) and Community Integrated Living Arrangements (CILA homes), each designed to offer safe, supportive environments where individuals can thrive.

Position Summary: Vice President of Finance

Reporting to the CEO and partnering closely with the organization's external CFO consultant, the Vice President of Finance will oversee the day-to-day finance and accounting operations of a $20M organization serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Illinois. This leader will directly manage a team of six finance and accounting professionals, support organizational priorities established by executive leadership, and ensure the accuracy, compliance, and long-term stability of the organization's financial operations.

Position Requirements - Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting required. Progressive leadership experience in accounting, with demonstrated ability to oversee all aspects of nonprofit or healthcare-related financial operations. Demonstrated success operating as a hands-on leader who combines financial expertise with strong execution, project management, and organizational problem-solving capabilities. Knowledge of state funding streams for intellectual and developmental disability (IDD/DD) services, including billing, reporting, and compliance requirements. Skilled at using technology, with working knowledge of accounting softwares (i.e. Business Central), electronic health record systems (i.e. Therap), and IL state government funding portals. Proven success in strengthening accounts receivable, billing, and collections functions in complex, contract-driven environments. Track record of building, mentoring, and leading high-performing teams, with ability to implement policies, systems, and accountability structures.

Location, Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, onsite position based at Progressive Careers & Housing's administrative office located at 20180 Governors Drive, Suite 300, Olympia Fields, Illinois. The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $175,000, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance; a 403(b) retirement plan with employer contributions; short-term disability and employer-paid life insurance; and paid time off including vacation, sick leave, and holidays.
