We're looking for a passionate and curious VP, Academic Partnerships to join our team. Evotec is seeking to expand its LAB eN2 partnership, focused on cardio-metabolic disease projects sourced from top-tier academic institutions in the US. The partnership has to date focused on academic partners in Massachusetts and the US North-East but is currently expanding across the country. To support the expansion and ongoing management of the LAB eN2 partnership we are looking for a highly motivated and skilled VP, Academic Partnerships. This role will focus on driving the identification and evaluation of potential projects, and advancement of relationships with leading academic and industry partners. This role will report to the SVP, Academic Partnerships.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the execution and ongoing expansion of the LAB eN2 BRIDGE alliance in the US

  • Serve as Evotec's on-site 'Evotec Collaboration Lead' across some of the most renowned universities and non-university research institutions in the US

  • Identify, evaluate and prioritize therapeutic projects from academic partners, aligned with defined strategic focus areas

  • Partner with internal scientific and drug discovery teams to shape development plans to de-risk early concepts and enable the translation from idea into a therapeutic concept to be tested in humans

  • Work closely with institutional Technology Transfer Offices (TTOs) and Principal Investigators to facilitate project onboarding, funding decisions, and licensing opportunities

  • Drive day-to-day collaboration with our partner, ensuring effective communication, alignment and delivery of partnership objectives

  • Provide strategic input for Evotec's academic alliances across the US

  • Provide input into broader Academic Partnerships strategy, sharing insights from the US ecosystem and market trends

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams including research, business development, and alliance management to ensure successful program execution

Who You Are:

  • PhD or MD degree

  • 12+ years experience in basic research and/or drug discovery within academia, biotech or pharma

  • Competitive and well-documented track record in the discovery of first-in class or best-in-class therapeutics within the metabolic disease area

  • Demonstrated track record in evaluating and recommending investment in early-stage therapeutic concepts in the above therapeutic areas across therapeutic modalities

  • Experience working within or alongside academic institutions, technology transfer offices, and industry partnerships

  • Strong understanding of drug discovery and early development processes, including key decision points and risk mitigation strategies

  • Proven ability to manage and grow external partnerships

  • General understanding of intellectual property (IP) rights

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both scientific and business audiences

  • Possess outstanding scientific curiosity and communication skills

The base pay range for this exempt, salaried position at commencement of employment is expected to be $171,700 to $232,300. Base salary offered may vary depending on the individual's skills, experience and competitive market value. Additional total rewards include discretionary annual bonus, comprehensive benefits to include Medical, Dental and Vision, short-term and long-term disability, company paid basic life insurance, 401k company match, flexible work, generous paid time off and paid holiday, wellness and transportation benefits.
