The Role
Vice President, Portfolio Management
Position Summary
The Vice President, Portfolio Management, will manage portfolio management strategy and oversee key initiatives across the consumer credit risk lifecycle. This role is responsible for evaluating portfolio performance, identifying emerging credit trends, recommending strategic actions to executive leadership, and supporting enterprise-level initiatives that drive profitable growth and disciplined risk management.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of strategic thinking, quantitative analytics, financial acumen, and leadership capability. This individual should have deep experience in unsecured consumer lending, with particular emphasis on account management and/or acquisitions, pricing, credit bureau attributes, profit and loss drivers, portfolio scoring, and collections.
This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end credit portfolio management strategies, including credit line increases and decreases, second-account acquisitions and account management, usage programs, over-limit authorization strategies, high-risk account management, retention, reissue, and related portfolio initiatives.
  • Monitor portfolio performance through ongoing review of asset quality reporting, delinquency and loss trends, industry developments, peer benchmarking, and the regulatory environment.
  • Develop and present periodic credit risk updates, portfolio performance reviews, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and risk committees.
  • Identify revenue opportunities, risk trends, and portfolio optimization strategies by analyzing existing portfolio performance, growth opportunities, and broader market conditions.
  • Design, develop, and evaluate new portfolio tests, strategies, and performance management initiatives.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of portfolio risk management models.
  • Build and manage relationships with senior and executive stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Lead and develop a team of risk analysts responsible for portfolio strategy analysis, deep-dive reviews, data quality remediation, automated SAS- and Tableau-driven management information systems, and business partner support.
  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing, operations, technology, finance, and other business teams to ensure portfolio strategies align with broader organizational goals.

You're a great fit if you have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant consumer credit risk experience within US consumer lending. Experience with US consumer credit cards is strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years of managerial experience, including direct leadership of analytical, risk, or portfolio management teams.
  • Cross-functional experience in areas such as portfolio management, acquisitions, loss forecasting, marketing, pricing, and profitability analytics preferred.
  • 3+ years of working experience with SAS, SQL, Python, or similar programming tools.
  • Strong analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop practical solutions to complex business challenges.
  • Solid understanding of P&L dynamics and key profitability drivers within consumer lending.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, actionable business insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with business partners across marketing, operations, technology, finance, and risk functions.
  • Strong planning, prioritization, coordination, and organizational skills.
  • High degree of initiative, sound judgment, self-direction, and ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Why You'll Love Working Here
This isn't just a job, it's a place to lead, grow, and thrive. If you believe in your skills and drive, we'll provide the resources and support to help you succeed.
Benefits include:
  • Generous PTO and holiday schedule
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Employee stock purchase plan
  • Ongoing training (lunch & learns, financial and health webinars)
  • Team volunteer outings
