Role

Responsible for the Credit Unionโ€™s overall compliance and risk management programs including, but not limited to lending, deposit, and operational rules, regulations, and statutory requirements. Acts as the Compliance Officer, Compliance Committee Chairperson and the BSA Officer. Monitor and alert management of upcoming changes in the regulatory environment. Ensures all Board of Directors, management and employees are in compliance with set rules and regulations, and that the Credit Union policies and procedures are being followed.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Ensures active and on-going coaching and development to assigned staff, writes, and conducts performance appraisals and identifies training needs.
  • Establish and maintain an ongoing compliance and risk program. Identify operational risk and maintain, develop, and implement programs when regulations change, or new policies or procedures are required.
  • Oversee the daily monitoring and review of organizational compliance with AML/BSA regulations via systems, reports and data to identify suspicious activity with fraud or BSA/AML implications.
  • Responsible for ensuring that a comprehensive framework for evaluating risk is in place to facilitate identification, measurement and control.
  • Responsible for Credit Unionโ€™s overall Compliance Program and assure that all departments and necessary staff are updated with any changes and answer all questions and concerns regarding Compliance.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Compliance employees to ensure optimal performance.
  • Works in conjunction with the Audit department.
  • Responsible for the Vendor Management program. Ensure that management is trained in the appropriate procedures for vendor due diligence. Assist in evaluating the risk for any vendor.
  • Performs compliance reviews to assess, develop, revise, and ensure the adequacy of programs, policies and procedures designed to safeguard credit union assets and maintain regulatory compliance. Ensures policies and procedures are appropriately disseminated.
  • Mantains records and documentation of compliance activities. Analyzes, prepares, and files appropriate reports with regulatory agencies.
  • Mantains records of complaints, investigations, and outcomes.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • Minimum five years of compliance experience required.
  • Minimum two years leadership experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree or comparable industry experience required.
  • Ability to analyze data for equitable resolutions.
  • Ability to manage projects through to completion.
  • Proficient with problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work regular full-time hours.
  • Ability to work on-site at designated location.
  • Ability to speak to groups of all sizes in a professional and precise manner.
  • Ability to communicate with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy and model exemplary member service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Must be bondable.
