Role:

As a Financial Advisor at Apple Federal Credit Union, you will play a pivotal role in helping clients achieve their financial goals and secure their financial futures. Knowledge and Skills:
  • Identifies and evaluates Members needs for financial services, assess the objectives and goals of the individual, then develops an investment strategy to implement.
  • Analyzes client financial information (including assets, income, debts and other liabilities, cash flow, and tax status), investment objectives and goals and determining which financial products best meet individual members’ needs and financial circumstances. This includes comparing and evaluating possible investment options for individual clients, identifying investment strategies and potential investments based on market conditions and clients’ particular circumstances, and assessing the timing of investments by analyzing market conditions to determine the optimum times to conduct securities transactions for clients.
  • Call members from the large transaction report, monthly CD maturing report, or any additional reports provided by the VP, Apple Financial Services to schedule appointments with members.
  • Collects (either in person, video conference, or by telephone) client financial information (including assets, income, debts and other liabilities, cash flow, and tax status), investment objectives and goals.
  • Services and performs periodic reviews of existing client accounts and meets with clients periodically to review and update client needs ensuring investment objectives and goals are progressing according to plan. Meetings to take place either monthly, quarterly and/or yearly depending on client needs established by Financial Advisor.
  • Stays current and analyzes market conditions and otherwise educating and updating themselves about financial and investment vehicles in the market and the tax and securities consequences to clients of investments. Attends training and/or completing required continuing education and keeps current on investment products and services offered. Meets monthly with VP of Apple Financial Services LLC.
  • Drives investment and program integration initiatives with credit union (including branch employee training). Provides regular feedback to the branch employees. Work with Branch Managers to identify and leverage cross-sell opportunities.
  • Remains visible to the appropriate segments of the public in order to meet and to retain potential new clients for CFS, including conducting client workshops/seminars on various topics (i.e. Social Security, Education planning, Retirement planning, etc.)
  • Represents the firm and assigned financial institution in relationships with clients, industry organizations, regulatory bodies, and other key outside parties.

Work branch hours – 8:45 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Keep a consistent schedule at designated branches. Work from three of more branches identifying and evaluating Members’ needs for financial services, assess the objectives and goals of the individual(s).

Financial Advisors are employed by Apple Federal Credit Union and registered through LPL Financial Services, LP (LPL). Member FINRA/SIPC. LPL Financial is a broker/dealer and RIA with a stable track record of service the investment needs of credit unions and their members.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or related field (preferred).
  • Licenses and Registrations: FINRA Series 7, 63/65 (or 66) licenses along with Life, Accident & Health licenses required.
  • Clean U-4 and Background

Physical Requirements:

The ability to lift 25 lbs. and utilize standard office equipment including, but not limited to, PC, fax, copier, telephone, etc.
