The Opportunity
Hamilton Lane is looking for a Vice President, in their National Accounts function to help grow our presence across the private wealth distribution landscape. This individual will be responsible for leading relationships with independent broker-dealer firms and digital investment platforms, as well as supporting our field and national accounts colleagues on strategic wealth management platforms like wirehouses, regional broker-dealers, and RIA/custodial platforms.

We're looking for an experienced national accounts relationship manager who has strong relationships in the IBD and tech platform space, possesses investment acumen in private markets (particularly with evergreen and semi-liquid structures), and thrives on managing multiple senior-level relationships while driving real growth in assets, approvals, and advisor engagement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead relationships across a set of independent broker-dealer firms, digital investment platforms, and aide in relationship management for strategic wirehouse, regional broker-dealer, custodial partners, and RIAs.
  • Work closely with our National Sales Manager and wholesalers to ensure alignment and drive growth across shared accounts.
  • Lead due diligence requestions like RFP, DDQs, platform onboarding, and fund approval/menu-placement processes for Hamilton Lane's evergreen, semi-liquid, and other private wealth product suite.
  • Build and execute account-specific business plans with clear sales, AUM growth, and advisor-engagement targets, coordinating with field partners so the firm shows up consistently across each platform.
  • Drive advisor awareness and product adoption through trainings, national and regional conferences, webinars, and due-diligence meetings.
  • Negotiate platform agreements, fee arrangements, and servicing terms in partnership with Legal, Compliance, and Product teams.
  • Monitor platform sales, flows, and redemption activity, flagging trends early and getting ahead of retention risk.
  • Represent the voice of the client internally, feeding platform requirements, competitive intelligence, and product feedback to Product, Marketing, and Fund Management.
  • Partner with Marketing on platform-specific campaigns, collateral, and digital content, and support model-portfolio/menu inclusion discussions.
  • Track pipeline, AUM, and revenue against goals using CRM and platform reporting tools, and keep current on private markets trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments across the IBD, RIA, and digital-platform channels.
  • Represent Hamilton Lane at industry conferences and due-diligence forums.

Your background will include:

Must-Haves:

  • 8+ years of experience in national accounts, platform relationship management, or distribution within asset management, particularly focused on alternative investments/ private markets
  • Established relationships with home-office due-diligence, platform, and product teams at independent broker-dealer and/or digital-platform organizations.
  • Working knowledge of private markets fund structures (evergreen/semi-liquid funds, interval funds, tender-offer funds, non-traded BDCs) and the IBD/RIA distribution landscape.
  • Demonstrated track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder relationships and driving measurable AUM and revenue growth.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 (or 66) required; additional licenses a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA, CFA, or CAIA a plus.
  • Strong contract negotiation skills, with the ability to work through platform agreements, fee terms, and servicing arrangements to a favorable outcome for both sides.
  • Detail-oriented project management skills, able to juggle multiple due-diligence processes, platform approvals, and account plans at once without losing track of deadlines or deliverables.
  • Highly organized, with a disciplined approach to prioritization and follow-through across a broad set of relationships and workstreams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both internally (across Sales, Marketing, Product, Legal, and Compliance) and externally (with senior home-office and platform executives).
  • Comfortable presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders, both one-on-one and in group settings.

Travel:

  • Willingness to travel approximately 30-50%.
