Job description

Job Description Summary

As the Executive Vice President, you will set the strategic direction for the division and lead a high-performing executive team across Sales, Support, R&D, and Professional Services. You are solely accountable for the division's P&L and financial results, and you will work alongside the Business Unit leadership team to identify and execute the strategies that drive sustainable growth.

This is a rare opportunity to lead an established, market-proven school financial solutions business with a long track record of success - and take it to its next level of growth. This role requires a seasoned software industry leader - someone who has operated at VP level or above with accountability across multiple functions in a software organization. Experience selling to or operating within the public sector, K-12 education, or government markets is strongly preferred. Candidates without a software background or relevant market experience will not be considered. The right candidate thinks strategically but isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and engage directly when the business needs it.

Remote/home office eligible (U.S. or Canada). Significant travel required (50%).

Job Description
  • Lead and inspire an executive team of Vice Presidents across Sales, Support, R&D, and Professional Services
  • Own and deliver the division's net revenue and EBITA growth targets
  • Provide detailed monthly briefings to Group Leader/COO on business performance, risks, and plans
  • Define and drive the Business Unit's AI strategy - from product integration to operational adoption - ensuring AI becomes a meaningful differentiator across the portfolio
  • Partner with the division's management team to establish long-term technology strategies across all product lines
  • Shape and execute strategy around software delivery, implementation, and customer adoption to drive retention, expansion, and long-term customer success
  • Identify and develop opportunities in new and adjacent markets, bringing a market builder mindset alongside operational discipline
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers - showing up not just as an executive, but as a trusted partner who understands their business
  • Step in where needed; this role demands both strategic vision and operational engagement
Additional Job Description
  • 5+ years of general management experience in a vertical market software company, with demonstrated P&L ownership
  • Prior experience at VP level or above with multi-functional leadership scope (Sales, Services, R&D, or Support)
  • Strong preference for candidates with direct experience in K-12 education, public sector, or government software markets - this market has a distinct buying culture and sales cycle that experience accelerates significantly
  • Proven track record managing organizations of 80+ individuals across multiple disciplines
  • A strategic thinker who also knows how to get things done - comfortable operating at altitude and at ground level
  • Exceptional communication skills - written, verbal, and executive presence
  • Financially fluent; capable of owning a full P&L and presenting results to senior leadership
  • Passionate about building teams, developing leaders, and holding the organization accountable to results

Salary: The hiring range for this role is $190,000 to 218,000 per year, with eligibility to participate in the company bonus program. Final compensation will be based on experience, skills, market conditions, and internal equity. We offer a competitive Total Rewards program including health benefits, 401K matching, stock option, and career development opportunities.
