Job description

Regional VP of Schools

Role Mission: The Vice President of Schools (VPS) is a senior leader responsible for managing schools, principals, and initiatives that shape the education of future graduates. They ensure the high performance of schools in the region.

A skilled manager and coach, the VPS leads instructional improvement, school culture, and human capital development. Driven by goals and data, they monitor performance, create motivating plans, and inspire others to achieve academic outcomes. They balance strategy execution with building relationships across teams to drive change. The VPS focuses on building leadership capacity, reallocating resources when needed, and ensuring regional leaders are equipped to meet goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly manage principals and regional direct reports

Location: This is a full-time hybrid position located in Tarrant County. Preference will be given to candidates who live in the region, or who are willing to relocate.

Travel Expectations: This role requires traveling and visiting campuses. Travel to IDEA Training events or step-back is required.

What You'll Do - Accountabilities

Essential Duties

  • Support Academic Excellence: Implement and manage curricula, programs, strategies, and interventions to achieve academic gains and exceed district goals.
  • Develop and Retain School Leadership: Develop principals into transformational leaders and retain top performers while building a strong leadership pipeline.
  • Oversee School Culture and Operations: Execute regional culture vision with school and district leaders, ensuring a college-bound culture with clear expectations for all students. Create a safe and joyful learning environment for all.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze all relevant data associated with students, staff, and families to identify trends and develop strategies to improve outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with HQ partners to ensure campuses meet goals.
  • Compliance: Ensure that schools have efficient processes to have safe, well-run schools and meet compliance standards aligned to IDEA, state, and federal policies.

They proactively identify and address communication gaps across workstreams, implementing solutions to enhance coordination, while anticipating and resolving stakeholder concerns before they surface.

Required Education and Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree is required.

Experience: 5+ years of teaching experience; 3+ years of principal experience

Proven track record of achieving success and leading other leaders

Preferred Education and Experience:

Education: masters degree in Educational Leadership and/or Administration or related

Physical Requirements

  • This position requires region-wide travel
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs.
  • May work prolonged or irregular hours
  • Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

What We Offer:

Compensation & Benefits:

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $131,000 and $158,500, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
