Job description

We are seeking a Vice President, Operational Risk Management to lead the development of an enterprise-wide risk event and issue management framework for a leading investment management organization. This role will focus on building scalable governance, risk, and reporting processes while partnering with senior business and technology leaders to strengthen operational risk practices across the organization.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building programs from the ground up, driving organizational change, and partnering with executive leadership to establish a consistent enterprise risk framework.
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement an enterprise-wide operational risk event and issue management framework.
  • Develop governance models, risk assessments, reporting, and executive dashboards.
  • Establish standardized processes for risk identification, assessment, prioritization, escalation, and remediation.
  • Partner with business, technology, security, and operational teams to improve risk management practices.
  • Present risk trends, metrics, and recommendations to senior leadership and governance committees.
  • Drive organizational adoption of risk management standards and continuous process improvement.
  • Support ServiceNow integration and the evolution of enterprise risk workflows.

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in Operational Risk Management, Enterprise Risk Management, or business process design.
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise-wide risk frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of risk and control assessments, risk appetite, key risk indicators (KRIs), governance, and operational risk reporting.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and build strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Experience presenting complex risk topics to executive leadership.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment and building new processes from the ground up.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational change management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within investment management, asset management, or financial services.
  • Experience supporting regulatory or audit environments.
  • Consulting or business transformation experience is a plus.
