Reporting to the VP of Legal, this role will oversee all land activities across EQV's growing portfolio, including leasing, title, division orders, owner relations, and acquisition diligence. The Vice President of Land will build and lead a high-performing team while establishing the systems and processes needed to support the company's continued growth.**Key Responsibilities****Strategy & Team Leadership*** Lead the Land Team and establish the strategic direction for lease acquisition, title, division orders, and owner relations across EQV's asset portfolio* Build, mentor, and lead the Land team, including Lease Analysts, Division Order Analysts, and contract landmen, while establishing scalable workflows, standards, and quality controls* Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on land-related risks, opportunities, and portfolio strategy* Establish and oversee the Land Teamโ€™s staffing strategy and vendor relationships, including outsourced partners, contract landmen, title attorneys, and land service providers**Lease & Title Management*** Oversee the companyโ€™s leasing strategy and activities, including extensions, renewals, ratifications, and amendments* Direct in-house and third-party title work, including acquisition and division order title opinions and related curative efforts* Ensure timely administration of lease obligations, including delay rentals, shut-in payments, and minimum royalties, while maintaining accurate, audit-ready records* Oversee the integrity of land data and drive standardization across acquired asset portfolios**Acquisitions & Portfolio Growth*** Partner with Business Development, Legal, Engineering, and Finance to evaluate strategic acquisition opportunities and translate diligence findings into commercial recommendations* Direct post-closing land integration, including lease inventory, DOI updates, assignments and land systems integration across acquired assets**External Relations & Compliance*** Oversee relationships with royalty owners, working interest partners, and surface owners, ensuring timely and professional resolution of inquiries and disputes* Ensure land operations comply with applicable state and federal regulations across EQV's operating basins.* Partner with Legal on litigation, title curative, and complex title matters**Cross-Functional Coordination*** Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Marketing, Legal and Accounting on land matters affecting drilling, workovers, plugging, revenue distribution and JIB processing* Draft and support land-related contracts, including surface use agreements, rights-of-way, and joint operating agreements* Serve as the primary land advisor to executive leadership and cross-functional teams## Qualifications**Required Qualifications*** Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Land Management, Energy Management, Business, Finance, or a related field* 12+ years of progressive upstream oil and gas land experience* 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience managing a land team* Deep knowledge of oil and gas leases, joint operating agreements, title work, and division of interest* Strong familiarity with major U.S. onshore basins* Experience with land management platforms such as Quorum, PakLand, or LandVantage* Demonstrated leadership, executive communication, and team-building skills**Preferred Qualifications*** CPL (Certified Professional Landman) or RPL certification through AAPL* Postgraduate degree, such as a JD, MBA, or Master's in Energy Management* Experience with a private, private equity-backed, or growth-focused E&P company* Multi-basin operating experience including the Permian and Haynesville**What You'll Bring**The right candidate combines deep technical land expertise with the leadership skills to build and lead a high-performing team and the strategic judgment to advise executive leadership.
