Job description

Maschmeyer Concrete is currently seeking an experienced and highly-motivated Vice President of Block Operations to lead our Block Division throughout the state of Florida.

The primary responsibility of the Vice President of Block Operations is to provide leadership and oversight of all block production facilities. This position is responsible for the overall operations of the Block Division, including operational metrics, budgeting, production, and key business decisions. The Vice President of Block Operations will lead the division as a complete business unit and report directly to the Executive Leadership Team.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Significant leadership experience in manufacturing, construction materials, concrete/block production, distribution, or a related operational environment
  • Experience overseeing multiple facilities and operational teams
  • Experience with P&L responsibility, budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing, production, logistics, and delivery operations
  • Ability to analyze operational and financial metrics and use data to drive business decisions
  • Proven ability to lead and develop managers and operational teams
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively work with executive leadership and other departments throughout the Company
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the state of Florida

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all block production facilities and block delivery operations throughout Florida
  • Provide leadership and direction to plant and operational management teams
  • Manage the overall operational and financial performance of the Block Division
  • Maintain responsibility for the division's profit and loss (P&L)
  • Establish, monitor, and evaluate key operational and financial metrics
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, operating expenses, and capital needs
  • Make key operational decisions related to production, staffing, equipment, transportation, and resource allocation
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, customer service, and profitability
  • Ensure consistent operational standards across all block locations
  • Develop operational leaders and hold teams accountable for established performance expectations
  • Partner with Sales, Finance, Team Member Services, Safety, Maintenance, and other departments to achieve Company objectives
  • Ensure compliance with Company safety standards, policies, and applicable regulations
  • Provide regular updates to the Executive Team regarding financial results, operational performance, challenges, and opportunities
  • Support the continued growth and development of the Block Division
