Position Overview

Phenix Label Company is seeking a strategic and results-driven Vice President of Sales to lead the company’s commercial growth initiatives. This executive leadership role is responsible for driving revenue expansion, strengthening customer relationships, and elevating brand presence within the label and packaging industry. The Vice President of Sales will oversee the development and execution of integrated sales and marketing strategies that support long-term growth, expand market share, and position Phenix as a preferred partner for high-quality label solutions.

As a key member of the leadership team, this individual will collaborate cross-functionally with operations, estimating, production, and customer service to ensure commercial strategies align with operational capabilities and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership

  • Develop and execute strategic sales initiatives to achieve short- and long-term revenue goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team focused on new business development and account growth.
  • Expand market share within key industries including food & beverage, healthcare, retail, and logistics.
  • Strengthen relationships with existing customers while identifying new market opportunities.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning to inform pricing and sales strategy.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure seamless project coordination and exceptional customer experience.

Marketing Strategy & Brand Growth

  • Oversee the development and execution of integrated marketing initiatives across digital, print, and industry trade shows.
  • Strengthen brand positioning and messaging across all customer touchpoints.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to improve lead generation, customer acquisition, and retention.
  • Support product marketing initiatives related to emerging label technologies, materials, and finishing capabilities.

Leadership & Organizational Alignment

  • Serve as a key strategic advisor to executive leadership on market trends and growth opportunities.
  • Align commercial strategy with operational capacity and long-term business objectives.
  • Foster collaboration across departments to support shared organizational goals.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement within the commercial team.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field required
  • MBA or equivalent executive leadership experience preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in B2B sales and marketing
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing sales or commercial teams
  • Experience in label printing, packaging, commercial printing, or manufacturing environments strongly preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strategic sales leadership and revenue growth planning
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to analyze market data and translate insights into actionable business strategies
  • Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or HubSpot

Work Environment

Physical requirements include extended periods of sitting, frequent use of computer and office equipment, and occasional lifting of items up to 15 pounds. 

 Work Location

  • This position requires up to 20% travel for customer meetings, industry events, and business development activities.
  • This position is based at Phenix Label’s headquarters in Olathe, Kansas.
  • Candidates must be located in the Kansas City metropolitan area or willing to relocate.
