VP of Accounting
Banyan Search is working on a great opportunity for a VP of Accounting. Our client is a stable, growing financial services organization known for its strong culture and long-tenured team. The company offers a mostly remote work environment, a collaborative and supportive leadership team, and real opportunity for the right candidate to make an impact and grow with the organization. Summary:
The VP, Accounting leads all accounting operations, financial reporting, and investment accounting for the organization, partnering closely with the CFO, treasury, and investment teams.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all financial accounting functions, including operational and investment accounting, and all month-end close activities.
  • Ensure accurate, GAAP-compliant financial reporting to the board, management, regulators, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and financial accounting policies; manage preparation for audits and regulatory examinations.
  • Partner with the CFO on financial planning, forecasting, and complex financial analysis (e.g., cash flow modeling).
  • Direct the annual budgeting process and monitor budget performance throughout the year.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Support treasury and investment management functions, including cash positioning and investment accounting.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (Master's a plus).
  • 4-10 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and finance-based functions.
  • Experience in financial services strongly preferred.
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
  • Advanced Excel and financial/accounting software skills.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.
