Job description

Job Summary

The Buyer's responsibility is to curate specific product for the Little Burgundy customer changing needs. Knowledge of the fashion, product industry. This person must be able to foresee sales trends through product and analysis of reports from brick and mortar as well as Ecommerce. A Clear understanding of our company core values, customer, and being able to work easily with different cultures and supply chains are a must. This candidate must be organized, a merchant and passionate about product and the way we present it to our customers. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Weekly Generate stock tape report and review sales with Merchandiser
  • Ensure high quality service, communication and positive relationship with suppliers
  • Communicate buying plans to DMM & VP GMM
  • Ensure balanced collection from a qualitative and quantitative point of view (Responsible for planning and selecting a range of products).
  • Review quantification with DMM prior to booking
  • Review booking orders based on product selection after it is entered by the POA
  • All orders to be reviewed and signed off by both the Buyer and DMM
  • Analyze the consumer buying patterns and predicting future trends (use tools; magazines, websites, fashion blog).
  • Meeting suppliers and negotiating pricing/RTV/Markdown dollars
  • Maintaining relationships with existing suppliers and sourcing new suppliers for future products.
  • Adjust orders based on sales results.
  • Work with planner to ensure we are meeting our Sales/GM/GM$
  • Monitor the competition.
  • Ensuring the products are delivered on time.
  • Identify business opportunities and challenges, implement weekly action plans and monitor effectiveness.
  • Liaising with other departments within the organization to ensure projects are completed (Be involved Visual merchandising, marketing, e-commerce and distribution).
  • Attending Market Travel, to select and assemble a new collection of products and meet new suppliers.
  • Manage inventory for specific assigned categories.
  • Analyze product sell through data and merchandise.

Job Requirements

  • College student in the field of business or related field of study
  • 3 – 5 years experience in Buying and or Merchandising, retail experience a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in and contribute to a high-performance team environment.
  • Performs to a high-level of accuracy and quality.
  • Detail Oriented
  • Ability to convey a professional, positive, service-oriented attitude at all times.
  • Fluent in French and English (Written & Spoken)
