Who we are looking for
The Vice President, Solutions Architecture for IMS West is a senior technology leadership role responsible for defining and governing the end-to-end technology architecture strategy supporting IMS West applications, platforms, infrastructure, and client-facing capabilities. This individual serves as the primary architecture leader across strategic initiatives, modernization programs, operational resiliency efforts, client remediation programs, cloud transformation, and regulatory-driven technology change.
The role partners closely with Engineering, Infrastructure, Production Management, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, Business Leadership, and external strategic clients to ensure technology solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, supportable, and aligned with business objectives.
The VP, Solutions Architecture provides technical leadership across the full application and infrastructure lifecycle while driving modernization, simplification, platform standardization, cloud adoption, observability, automation, and control maturity
What you will be responsible for
Architecture Strategy & Governance
  • Define and maintain the IMS West technology architecture roadmap aligned with business, operational, and regulatory priorities.
  • Establish target-state architectures spanning applications, infrastructure, cloud, data, integration, networking, security, and operational tooling.
  • Serve as the lead architecture authority for IMS West modernization and transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with State Street architecture standards, governance frameworks, and enterprise technology principles.
  • Lead architecture reviews, design councils, and governance forums for strategic technology investments.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture, HEAT, and Architecture Review Boards to drive solution approvals and risk management.

Solution Design Leadership
  • Provide end-to-end architecture leadership for complex business, client, operational, and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Develop architecture patterns, reference architectures, technical standards, and reusable design frameworks.
  • Review and approve solution designs for strategic programs, large-scale changes, and high-risk implementations.
  • Ensure architecture decisions appropriately balance resiliency, performance, cost, supportability, security, and speed to market.
  • Drive application rationalization and platform simplification initiatives.

IMSW Modernization & Transformation
  • Lead architecture efforts supporting:
    • Cloud migrations and cloud-native adoption
    • Data center exit and infrastructure modernization initiatives
    • Application modernization programs
    • Technical debt reduction
    • Platform consolidation efforts
    • Automation and observability programs
    • Operational resilience initiatives
  • Define strategic technology direction for critical IMS West applications and supporting services.

Operational Resilience & Risk Management
  • Partner with Production Management and Engineering leaders to strengthen system resiliency.
  • Drive architecture improvements that reduce operational risk and eliminate single points of failure.
  • Incorporate lessons learned from incidents, outages, audit findings, and regulatory reviews into future-state designs.
  • Ensure architecture solutions support recoverability, monitoring, observability, availability, and cyber resiliency objectives.
  • Support internal audit, regulatory, and control remediation initiatives.

Client & Business Engagement
  • Work directly with executive business stakeholders and strategic clients to translate business requirements into technology solutions.
  • Support client-facing technology discussions, architecture reviews, remediation programs, and transformation initiatives.
  • Provide executive-level communication regarding architecture strategy, risks, dependencies, and investment priorities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior business and technology leadership.

Engineering Partnership & Delivery Enablement
  • Partner with engineering and delivery teams to ensure architecture designs are effectively implemented.
  • Guide development teams on architecture best practices and engineering standards.
  • Drive adoption of automation, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, AI-enabled operations, and modern engineering practices.
  • Mentor architects, senior engineers, and technical leads across the IMS West organization.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Proven track record delivering enterprise modernization and transformation programs.
  • Strong experience with mission-critical production environments and operational risk management.

Salary Range:
$125,000 - $226,250 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
