P&W is seeking an exceptional candidate to fill the role of Senior Technical Fellow - Non-Conventional machining, reporting to the Vice President, Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering.
P&W is seeking an expert in manufacturing engineering to fill the Non-conventional Machining Sr. Fellow role.
Included in the non-conventional machining discipline are: laser cutting, laser drilling, electrical discharge machining (EDM), electrochemical machining (ECM), wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) and waterjet. The non-conventional machining fellow is also expected to have expertise in consumable tooling, fixturing, and non-conventional machining equipment.
The role will require strong relations with Module Center, Materials, Engineering, Quality and Capital Equipment organizations, including collaboration with Collins Aerospace.
What You Will Do:
  • As the Sr Fellow and Leader of Pratt & Whitney's Non-Conventional Machining Process Council across Pratt & Whitney's worldwide manufacturing sites, your responsibilities include:
  • Lead resolution of systemic quality and production issues related to Non-Conventional Machining across internal and external supply chain sites.
  • Establish performance benchmarks and standardization to achieve best-in-class in Non-Conventional Machining processes
  • Lead Non-Conventional Machining Process Council
  • Own the Non-Conventional Machining technology roadmap & Parent/Child PFMEA's
  • Develop employee proficiency levels, training and mentorship for the sub-discipline
  • Contribute to and review the technical specifications for future capital acquisitions
  • Be the key change agent, reviewer and approver for Non-Conventional Machining procedures and standard work
  • Ensure best practices are captured and shared across producers
  • Support patent review teams as needed
  • Connecticut or Asheville, NC work locations are preferred.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, or related engineering field,
  • 20+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 15+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in aviation, turbomachinery and/or gas turbine industries
  • Excellent communication skills, including 1-on-1, group presentations, and written communications
  • 20-30% travel
  • U.S. citizen is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under certain programs/contracts

The salary range for this role is 186,200 USD - 353,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
