Job description

U.S. SALES DIRECTOR PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

The Sales Director is responsible for ensuring that financial and material sales growth objectives are managed and realized. This role will focus on successfully managing people, to sustain sales growth and profitability of the institutional markets primarily in the Southeast U.S. Measuring, monitoring, mentoring, and motivating the Sales Account Executives in this region is paramount for success.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Develop strategic sales prospecting objectives for the region, by supporting the overall company strategy of the lumber and packaging segments
  • Direct sales to execute the sales philosophy and process to ensure a high standard of relationship selling for growth in core segments
  • Create and maintain a sales culture focused on delivering results by providing ongoing coaching, mentoring and development of technical sales advisors. To initiate corrective actions as needed for a successful high performing team
  • Identify business potential within industrial markets, OEM, manufacturing, and distribution and ensure its development in existing and/or new markets to achieve sales targets and market share.
  • Encourage accountability of sales by executing weekly team huddles, monthly CRM project meetings, quarterly target development meetings and yearly performance reviews
  • Deliver regular communication to the Vice President of Sales regarding feedback from the field on products, market, including respective competition activities to identify and evaluate trends and developments as early as possible.
  • Meet with larger target accounts to discuss customer needs, assess the quality of our relationship, and develop ways to support the value proposition
  • Act as a liaison/partner between the sales team and other internal customers.
  • Support Sales Account Executives by accompanying them on calls and helping them present to target end-users
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5-10 years of progressive sales leadership experience, including industrial packaging, wood products, or dimensional lumber.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling sales organizations and consistently delivering on revenue and margin targets.
  • Strong background in business development, market expansion, and key account management at the executive level.
  • Experience with P&L ownership, pricing strategy, and large-scale contract negotiation.
  • Skilled in building and leading geographically distributed teams.
  • Excellent executive presence, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • High financial acumen with strong analytical and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Sales, or a related discipline (MBA preferred).
  • Proficiency with lead-gen tools (ZoomInfo, Apollo, Lusha, LinkedIn Sales Navigator).
