Job description

Company Description

Zenith is one of Publicis Groupe's largest media agencies, spanning 95 markets globally with US offices in New York, Burbank, Chicago, Atlanta and Detroit. For more than 30 years, we have been at the forefront of media, helping to evolve and reshape the industry. We are highly regarded as a true agency partner by many high-profile brands for our expertise across numerous categories and wide range of capabilities that are unparalleled in the industry. Clients hire us for our track record of excellence in strategic planning, investment, and measurement. We also have specialist offerings, including content, commerce, multicultural and future-proofed data capabilities.

Overview

The EVP of Investment leads the strategic vision, negotiation, and deployment of a multi-million dollar cross-channel media portfolio for a marquee telecommunications account. This specialized role demands an industry-leading expert in integrated investment, with a heavy emphasis on Linear TV and premium video streaming ecosystems (CTV, OTT, and Addressable VOD).

You will orchestrate high-stakes marketplace deals to accelerate subscriber acquisition and product adoption in a fierce competitive landscape. As the primary investment counsel to C-suite client leadership, you will bridge the gap between traditional video infrastructure and advanced, data-driven digital media buy strategies. You'll also be a prominent voice within the leadership team on the account, closely collaborating with your peers across Strategy, Measurement, and Operations to inform the vision and imperatives for the business.

Responsibilities

Maximize Portfolio Impact

  • Drive Video Strategy: Lead holistic screen planning to optimize reach and frequency across Linear, CTV, and premium digital video platforms.
  • Lead Upfront Negotiations: Command high-stakes Upfront and NewFront media negotiations to secure premier inventory, lowest-cost bases, and strict audience guarantees.
  • Optimize Capital Fluidity: Manage dynamic media budgets, pivoting capital between traditional schedules and live-streaming sports based on real-time performance.
  • Advance Addressable Buying: Scale addressable TV, programmatically-infused premium video, and private marketplace (PMP) deals using client first-party data.
  • Secure First-to-Market Media: Leverage deep vendor ties to unlock exclusive sponsorships, custom integrations, and beta opportunities across premium networks.
  • Innovate Within Content: Build the brand's storytelling presence within innovative spaces across social, video, and high-impact placements.

Executive Leadership & Accountability

  • Advise Client C-Suite: Serve as the chief marketplace authority, translating media trends, viewing shifts, and fragmenting infrastructure into actionable investment advice.
  • Guide Agency Integration: Collaborate with Strategy, Analytics, and Planning leads to ensure tactical buying reflects broader brand goals.
  • Oversee Financial Health: Maintain total accountability for budget tracking, rigorous media auditing, billing reconciliation, and network delivery compliance.

Mentor Team Talent: Directly lead, inspire, and grow a multi-disciplinary investment department, building a resilient pipeline of future media leaders.

Qualifications
  • B.A. or B.S. in Marketing, Advertising or related field
  • Agency experience highly preferred, with experience managing large client account billings from $500M to $1B+ a plus
  • 15+ Years Experience with a proven track record within a major media agency network, including 5+ years directing enterprise-level media investment teams
  • 12+ years of management experience, with strong leadership and mentorship skills
  • Telecom/Retail Expertise: Direct experience managing high-velocity, multi-million dollar telecom, wireless, or hyper-competitive retail accounts
  • Video Market Authority: Deep mastery of national broadcast, cable, syndication, and premium streaming publisher ecosystems (e.g., Netflix, Disney, NBCU, Paramount)
  • Data & Clean Room Literacy: Fluent in utilizing identity solutions, advanced clean rooms, and digital attribution models to prove video ROI
  • NYC Network Power: Existing, high-level relationships with major network executives, streaming platform chiefs, and digital media programmatic sellers
  • Ability to inspire, innovative, and collaborate
  • Ability to recruit and retain top talent
  • Strong negotiation skills, with Upfront experience preferred
  • Experience leading tactical campaigns across multiple lines of business
  • Experience managing cost guarantees preferred
  • Proven success with revenue driven agency solutions a plus
  • Must have excellent verbal/written communication skills, inter-personal skills, detail-orientation, and follow-though skills
  • Must have C-Suite tested presentation skills
  • Must have excellent marketplace reputation and relations
  • Must have strong analytical, research, and quantitative skills
  • Must be hard-working, resourceful, able to multi-task, work well under tight deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Must possess strong understanding of the technology marketplace including key publishers, products, and trends
