Job description

How would you drive a culture of quality excellence across diverse global manufacturing sites?

As a key member of our leadership team, the Vice President of Global Quality will play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining a strong quality culture and ensuring compliance with global regulatory requirements. This role involves developing strategic quality plans, leading cross-functional teams, and driving continuous improvement efforts across various business units and regions.

You will lead the global Quality team in driving a performance-based culture across our operations, transforming our global manufacturing sites through metrics-driven quality systems and spearheading the adoption of automation and technology to elevate quality standards worldwide.

This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) and can be based in US Hexcel Location (preferred sites are Casa Grande, AZ, Decatur, AL, Salt Lake City, UT or Stamford, CT).
 

What you will do:

  • Develop and implement a strategic quality plan that aligns with the company's overall business objectives, ensuring compliance with global regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a global quality team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and driving talent development.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust quality systems, including quality management systems (QMS), quality assurance (QA), and quality control (QC) processes.
  • Ensure compliance with global aerospace quality standards and regulatory requirements, including ISO 9100, AS 9100, and NADCAP, and effectively communicate with regulatory agencies.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and continuous improvement, driving efficiency and effectiveness across global operations.
  • Develop and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor quality performance, identify areas for improvement, and report on quality metrics to senior leadership.
  • Implement and manage quality risk assessments and mitigation strategies, ensuring that potential risks are identified and addressed proactively.
  • Oversee internal and external audits, including regulatory inspections, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and addressing any audit findings.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customer quality concerns and complaints, leading efforts to resolve issues promptly and effectively.
  • Continuously working with the manufacturing arm of Hexcel and its customers to align on specifications and proper terms and conditions to objectify expectations.

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management and operations leadership or a related field is typically required and at least 10 years of industry experience.
  • In-depth understanding of aerospace quality standards, regulations, and industry best practices, including ISO 9001, AS 9100, and FAA regulations.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and lead a team towards achieving quality goal.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey quality information and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • A strategic mindset to develop and implement quality strategies, programs, and initiatives.
  • Experience managing multiple, simultaneous, and complex tasks according to established deadlines.
  • A demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and enhance efficiency.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and vendors.
  • Ability to travel internationally 30%-50%
