Vice President of Nursing Operations - Behavioral Health

Hybrid | PA, NC & GA
$100,000 - $130,000 per year
Full-Time | Multi-Site Leadership | Regional Travel Required

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Nursing Operations to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for nursing services across our behavioral health and substance use treatment programs.

This is an opportunity for an accomplished RN nursing leader to make a meaningful impact across multiple facilities and programs while partnering with executive and operational leadership to strengthen nursing practice, develop leaders, improve quality, and support organizational growth.

The VP of Nursing Operations will oversee nursing operations across assigned programs in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia, with regular travel required between facilities.

What You'll DoExecutive Nursing & Operational Leadership
  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for nursing services across assigned facilities and programs

  • Establish and promote consistent nursing practices, standards, and expectations across multiple locations

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to Directors of Nursing, Nurse Managers, Charge Nurses, and nursing teams

  • Support nursing workforce planning, staffing strategies, retention initiatives, succession planning, and leadership development

  • Identify operational challenges and develop solutions that improve nursing performance and client care

  • Support the successful launch and expansion of new programs and services

  • Partner with leadership to ensure nursing operations support organizational goals and growth

Quality, Compliance & Clinical Excellence
  • Ensure nursing services meet applicable federal, state, organizational, and professional standards

  • Promote adherence to medication management, infection control, documentation, and nursing practice requirements

  • Support facilities through regulatory and accreditation surveys and readiness activities

  • Provide leadership related to CARF, DDAP, OMHSAS, Joint Commission, ASAM, and other applicable regulatory standards

  • Conduct and support nursing audits, chart reviews, documentation reviews, and operational assessments

  • Identify quality and compliance concerns and support the development and implementation of corrective action plans

  • Partner with Quality, Compliance, Clinical, and Performance Improvement teams to drive continuous improvement

Leadership Development & Workforce Strategy
  • Develop and mentor nursing leaders across assigned programs

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and retention of nursing professionals

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen nursing leadership capabilities and staff development

  • Promote accountability, professional growth, collaboration, and nursing excellence

  • Assist with succession planning and development of future nursing leaders

  • Support organizational initiatives designed to improve employee engagement and retention

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Operations, Clinical, Quality, Compliance, Human Resources, and Performance Improvement leadership

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary leadership teams to improve clinical outcomes and operational effectiveness

  • Analyze nursing and operational performance data and implement improvement strategies

  • Support resource planning and utilization across assigned facilities

  • Provide leadership during operational challenges, critical incidents, and crisis situations

  • Participate in leadership on-call responsibilities as assigned

  • Travel regularly to assigned facilities throughout PA, NC, and GA

What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications

Education & Licensure

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in a state of practice or applicable compact/reciprocal state

  • Current CPR/BLS and First Aid certification

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing leadership experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading nursing teams and clinical operations

  • Strong understanding of nursing practice standards, healthcare regulations, quality, and compliance

  • Experience with staffing, workforce planning, performance management, and nursing leadership development

Preferred Experience
  • Multi-site, regional, or enterprise-level nursing leadership experience

  • Experience overseeing nursing operations across multiple healthcare facilities or programs

  • Experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, addiction treatment, or co-occurring disorders

  • Experience with regulatory surveys, accreditation, audits, and corrective action planning

  • Familiarity with CARF, DDAP, OMHSAS, Joint Commission, ASAM, or similar regulatory standards

  • Experience supporting new program openings, expansions, or organizational growth
