Job description

About Recom
Recom accelerates premium brands on Amazon - JBL, Shiseido, NEST NY, and other luxury names that take brand experience seriously.
We're not a high-volume agency. We're a craft-driven team building the modern standard for how world-class brands show up on the world's largest commerce platforms. We do this through multiple models that all focus on creating the best brand experience for consumers, while accelerating growth and taking ownership over results on the marketplaces.
Ready to grow with us? Learn more at www.recom.co.
Role Description
The clients are world-class. The work is world-class. The pipeline engine is not yet built.
Premium and luxury brands are not finding Recom in the moments that matter. We are hiring a Director of Content and Demand Generation to change that.
This is a senior individual contributor role. You produce the work. You operate as a team of five, with AI as your force multiplier, external creative agencies as your video production capacity, and a dedicated paid media agency executing against your strategy. The output is yours.
You report to the CMO. You work directly with the Co-Founders. You own a number.
What You Own
This role has two pillars. AI is the operating model that runs through both.
1. The Content Engine
You build the content function from scratch and run it like a publisher of one.
  • Editorial strategy and calendar across owned channels
  • Written content: thought leadership, long-form, editorial, and short-form copy, produced directly by you
  • Video content: you direct the strategy, write the briefs, manage external creative agencies, and own the final output
  • SEO, organic search, and content distribution
  • Social and short-form content that compounds reach
  • A repurposing engine that turns one asset into ten

You set the bar for substance. Every piece of content earns the right to be read or watched by the kind of brand we want to win.
2. Demand Generation
You own marketing's pipeline contribution. The number is yours.
  • Build the inbound engine that drives qualified inquiries from premium brands
  • Run integrated campaigns that connect content, channels, and sales
  • Direct paid media strategy across channels with a dedicated agency executing and a monthly working budget to deploy
  • Partner with sales on ABM and intent signals for target accounts
  • Own the funnel from first touch to qualified opportunity
  • Measure, report, and defend pipeline contribution against revenue

The "Team of Five" Operating Model
You have already proven this works. We want to see the portfolio.
Show us the mind-blowing AI work you have shipped solo. Show us the content engines, demand programs, and pipeline plays you have built. Show us the videos you have directed and the writing that has moved people. Show us what worked.
Using AI and external creative agencies, you operate as:
  • A content strategist
  • An editor and writer
  • A video creative director
  • A growth and SEO operator
  • A campaign and demand manager

You use AI to compress the work of a five-person team into the output of one operator. External creative agencies extend your production capacity on video. The taste stays yours.
Who This Role Is For
You are a senior content and demand operator who has carried a pipeline number and hit it as an individual contributor.
You have:
  • 7+ years across content marketing and demand generation
  • A portfolio of AI-leveraged work that punches above the headcount that produced it
  • Hands-on craft in writing, with the editorial chops to set the bar yourself
  • Experience directing video work and managing external creative agencies
  • A track record of building inbound engines from zero, solo
  • Comfort with attribution, pipeline math, and revenue conversations
  • Experience in agency, ecommerce, premium brand, or B2B services environments is a plus

You are AI-forward and AI-native. You are already three tools ahead of the AI roadmap.
If you want to grow a team, this is not your seat. This role is built for builders who want to ship.
Why This Is a Rare Opportunity
  • You own content and demand at a premier Amazon agency serving the world's top brands
  • Direct line to the CMO and Co-Founders
  • A blank-canvas mandate to build the demand engine you want
  • A real budget for external creative agencies on video and production
  • A monthly paid media budget and a dedicated paid media agency to execute
  • A roster that gives you immediate credibility and case study fuel
  • The freedom to define the AI-native operating model for a modern agency

If you do this role well, premium brands inquire about Recom before we ever reach out to them.
What Success Looks Like in Year One
  • A content engine producing work that premium brand decision-makers actually read and watch
  • Inbound inquiries from target-tier brands are measurable and growing
  • Marketing-sourced pipeline is a defined and growing share of total pipeline
  • Video and editorial output is consistent, high-caliber, and unmistakably Recom
  • Sales has the air cover and intent signals they need to win premium accounts
