About the Role
We're seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President, Equipment Fleet Management to join our executive leadership team. In this role, you will provide enterprise-wide leadership for fleet strategy, capital planning, asset management, and operational performance while ensuring the company's fleet remains a competitive advantage.
This position plays a critical role in maximizing equipment utilization, optimizing capital investments, reducing lifecycle costs, and supporting operational excellence across all business units. The Vice President, Equipment Fleet Management partners closely with Executive Leadership, Operations, Finance, Estimating, Risk Management, and Equipment Operations to drive efficiency, reliability, and long-term growth
What You'll Do
  • Develop and execute the company's long-term fleet management strategy aligned with corporate growth objectives.
  • Lead capital equipment planning, budgeting, acquisition strategies, and fleet replacement programs.
  • Optimize fleet utilization, equipment mix, lifecycle management, and asset performance across all operating divisions.
  • Partner with Executive Leadership, Finance, Operations, Risk Management, OEMs, dealers, leasing companies, and technology providers to achieve business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, financial controls, insurance requirements, and fleet-related regulations.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, productivity, equipment reliability, fuel efficiency, and operational excellence.
  • Evaluate purchase, lease, rental, and financing alternatives through Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and ROI analysis.
  • Oversee fleet technology systems including telematics, GPS, fuel management, predictive maintenance, business intelligence, and analytics platforms.
  • Prepare executive dashboards and reports covering capital spending, utilization, lifecycle costs, profitability, and investment performance.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing fleet management organization while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and customer service.

Position Requirements
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in fleet management, equipment operations, construction equipment management, or a related industry.
  • 7+ years of senior leadership experience managing large-scale fleet operations and capital asset portfolios.
  • Strong knowledge of fleet lifecycle management, capital planning, financial analysis, equipment acquisition, utilization management, and asset optimization.
  • Proven experience developing and managing multi-million-dollar capital and operating budgets.
  • Expertise in Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), ROI analysis, fleet benchmarking, and strategic capital allocation.
  • Strong understanding of heavy equipment operations, preventive maintenance programs, telematics, and fleet information systems.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, fleet management software, business intelligence tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to influence executive decision-making and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
