Position Summary: The Director of Sales will lead the revenue generation strategy for the Sheraton Suites Philadelphia Airport, a 250-suite full-service hotel serving a diverse mix of airline crews, corporate travelers, project-based business, government accounts, sports teams, and group customers. Reporting directly to the General Manager and leading one direct report, the Sales Manager, this individual will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities while strengthening relationships within the local Philadelphia market. A key focus of this role will be replacing recently displaced airline business, expanding partnerships with airline and aviation-related accounts, and driving market share growth across multiple industry segments.
The ideal candidate is a highly curious, relationship-driven sales professional who stays informed on new developments, emerging industries, local projects, and changing market trends. Experience selling airport hotels is strongly preferred, along with a proven ability to win and retain airline business. Candidates should have experience utilizing Marriott sales platforms, sales and catering systems, and One Yield Revenue Management tools to support forecasting, strategic planning, and revenue optimization. Strong preference will be given to local candidates who understand the Philadelphia market, have established business relationships within the community, and can quickly capitalize on opportunities to drive revenue and long-term client partnerships.
While the Director of Sales reports directly to the General Manager, the Regional Sales and Marketing Manager will interface and assist in the direction of the Sales and Marketing function at the property.

  • Airline Account Expertise: Experience selling to airline and aviation-related accounts, with a strong understanding of the unique demands and opportunities within the airport hotel segment.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Ability to effectively lead, coach, and develop sales talent, including oversight of the Sales Manager position.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum 3-5 years of hotel sales leadership experience in a full-service hotel environment.
  • Airport hotel experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven success generating new business and growing revenue through strategic prospecting and relationship development.
  • Experience replacing displaced business through the cultivation of new accounts and market segments.
  • Strong understanding of the Philadelphia market, with local candidates preferred.
  • Established local business relationships and community connections are highly desirable.
  • Experience utilizing Marriott sales systems, including CI/TY and other Marriott sales platforms.
  • Experience working with hotel sales and catering systems.
  • Knowledge of One Yield Revenue Management tools and forecasting processes.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, communication, and business development skills.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with hotel leadership to develop and execute revenue-generating initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and hospitality sales experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong business communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • 3 years proven hotel sales experience, demonstrating proven creative thinking and results driven leadership skills
  • High work ethic and self-initiative
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Suite
  • Some travel may be required
  • Regular attendance according to established guidelines
  • May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property
  • Must possess basic computational ability
  • Focus and maintain attention to tasks, and complete work assignments on time despite frequent interruptions
  • Ability to maintain excellent relationships with staff and maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times
  • Ability to participate in, and at times lead departmental and/or hotel team meetings
