The Position:
We are looking for a Vice President (VP), Principal to serve as the executive lead in serving your assigned clients. You are a seasoned expert in Marketing and in the Pharmaceutical category, with an ability to inspire client engagement and fuel account growth. You will be the go-to executive client contact, owning the relationship and continuously building it. You are the executive voice of the client inside the agency, leading the internal agency team to ensure the client's needs and goals are being met on every project. You will be accountable for providing an exceptional client experience across every interaction between the client and agency. You will be responsible for getting the client the best possible work at a profitable return for the agency. You will develop a thorough knowledge of the client's business, the consumer and the marketplace.
The Responsibilities:
Includes, but not limited to the following:
  • Serve as the executive owner of assigned pharmaceutical client relationships, ensuring BPD delivers an exceptional client experience and solutions that achieve clients' business objectives.
  • Drive organic growth and increased share of wallet by developing and implementing account strategies, identifying new opportunities and bringing forward innovative solutions that address evolving client needs.
  • Expertly manage client P&Ls, balancing high-value, high-quality work with strong account performance and profitability.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships throughout the client ecosystem, from senior executives to day-to-day partners.
  • Lead pharmaceutical clients through the commercialization journey, from clinical development and pre-launch planning through FDA approval, launch readiness and commercialization.
  • Guide positioning, brand strategy, market development, HCP and patient engagement, launch planning and integrated/omnichannel activation for pre-commercial and launch-stage brands.
  • Provide executive-level strategic counsel, helping clients navigate evolving clinical data, regulatory milestones, competitive developments, approval scenarios and launch timing.
  • Partner across Commercial/Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory, Clinical, Patient Services, Sales/Field, analytics, market research and competitive intelligence to develop cohesive commercialization strategies.
  • Navigate the pharmaceutical regulatory and promotional environment, partnering effectively with Medical, Legal, Regulatory and Compliance teams throughout the MLR review process.
  • Incorporate market access, reimbursement and patient-support considerations into brand, communications and launch strategies.
  • Develop strategies that effectively engage key stakeholders, including HCPs, patients and caregivers, KOLs, advocacy organizations and other influential audiences throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Translate complex clinical and scientific information into differentiated, compelling and compliant brand and communications strategies.
  • Lead and inspire cross-functional teams across Media, Strategy, Creative, Project Management and Leadership to deliver integrated, high-quality work aligned with client objectives.
  • Operate effectively at both the strategic and executional levels, moving seamlessly between big-picture thinking and the details required to drive work forward.
  • Lead and quarterback high-level client presentations and pitches, bringing together perspectives from across the firm into compelling, polished narratives.
  • Lead and mentor direct reports through effective delegation, coaching, training and ongoing development.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of clients' industries, audiences and competitive landscapes, as well as evolving pharmaceutical marketing, media, social and digital trends.

The Essentials:
  • 15+ years' experience, including significant pharmaceutical agency experience and executive-level responsibility for pharmaceutical clients.
  • Prior experience leading pharmaceutical brands from pre-commercial planning through launch strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with an ability to clearly, concisely and confidently articulate information and recommendations.
  • Excellent presentation-building and presentation skills.
  • Must be a seasoned analytical and strategic thinker.
  • Advertising agency experience is a must.
  • Must have understanding of the overall media landscape and experience launching multi-channel integrated campaigns, including knowledge of digital media channels.
  • Team-oriented player and a proven, effective leader - ability to lead, inspire and collaborate with a large cross-functional team. Willing to "roll up the sleeves" with a can-do attitude.
  • Must have experience managing direct reports.
  • A service-oriented mindset, focused on delivering high quality work, and always anticipating client and internal team needs.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment with an ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
