Job Title: Vice President of Marketing
Department: Marketing
Reports to: CEO
Location: Remote / [Specify if hybrid or HQ-based]

About Codio
Codio is a versatile cloud-based learning experience platform designed for computer science and technical skills education. Our platform enables immersive, hands-on learning with an integrated browser-based IDE, auto-graded assessments, and rich, interactive curriculum resources.
We partner with:
  • Higher education institutions teaching computer science, data science, and cybersecurity.
  • Workforce upskilling providers like Udacity
  • Cyber & Data training specialists like ManTech and Data Society
  • Bootcamps and professional training companies such as Flatiron School and Coding Temple.
  • Developer-focused technology companies delivering scalable customer education programs.

As Codio's customer base expands beyond academia into professional training and enterprise tech, we are seeking a Vice President of Marketing to lead our marketing function into its next phase of growth.
Role Overview
The VP of Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing Codio's global marketing strategy, spanning demand generation, brand positioning, product marketing, and go-to-market execution.
This is a hands-on leadership role in a ~30-person, scale-up stage company. The VP will define marketing priorities, build scalable programs, and collaborate closely with Sales and Product to drive pipeline, customer acquisition, and expansion.
We are looking for a growth-oriented marketing leader with deep knowledge of the enterprise tech skills training landscape, strong SaaS/edtech marketing experience, and a proven ability to scale marketing in a high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Marketing Strategy & Leadership
    • Own and evolve Codio's marketing strategy across higher education, workforce upskilling, bootcamps, and enterprise tech training segments.
    • Position Codio as the go-to learning platform for computer science and technical skills.
    • Lead, mentor, and grow the marketing function, balancing strategy with hands-on execution.
  • Demand Generation & Growth Marketing
    • Build scalable demand generation programs (digital, ABM, events, partnerships) to drive qualified leads across diverse customer segments.
    • Partner with Sales to design and execute highly targeted campaigns and nurture tracks.
    • Establish data-driven processes for pipeline generation, attribution, and ROI tracking.
  • Product & Content Marketing
    • Translate Codio's capabilities into compelling, differentiated value propositions for each target segment (higher ed, enterprise, bootcamps).
    • Oversee creation of thought leadership, customer success stories, and content to establish Codio's authority in technical education.
    • Develop sales enablement tools, collateral, and competitive positioning.
  • Brand & Market Expansion
    • Build Codio's brand presence in enterprise training and bootcamp sectors while reinforcing credibility in higher education.
    • Drive PR, analyst relations, and strategic partnerships to expand market reach.
    • Monitor competitor strategies and market dynamics to inform positioning and messaging.

Key Measures of Success
  • Growth in marketing-sourced pipeline and SQLs across all target segments.
  • Expansion of Codio's brand awareness and thought leadership in enterprise tech skills training.
  • Strong alignment between Marketing, Sales, and Product on go-to-market execution.
  • Clear, measurable ROI from demand generation and marketing programs.
  • Successful establishment of scalable marketing processes, systems, and metrics.

Skills & Experience
  • Proven success in senior B2B SaaS/EdTech/Enterprise Training marketing leadership roles.
  • Deep familiarity with the enterprise technical skills and workforce training ecosystem (bootcamps, upskilling providers, corporate training, developer education).
  • Demonstrated expertise in demand generation, growth marketing, and pipeline acceleration.
  • Strong background in product marketing and positioning across diverse customer segments.
  • Ability to thrive in a scale-up environment: resourceful, hands-on, and comfortable wearing multiple hats.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to inspire teams and engage executives, customers, and partners.
  • Experience building and scaling marketing functions in companies moving from start-up to growth stage.

Why Join Codio?
Codio is at an exciting inflection point-expanding from a leader in higher education computer science to a platform that also powers workforce upskilling, professional bootcamps, and enterprise training. As VP of Marketing, you will be central to shaping our growth trajectory, positioning Codio as the leader in technical skills education across multiple markets, and building the marketing engine that drives our next stage of scale.
