Job Summary:

If you're the kind of engineer who gets excited by vibration plots, high-speed machinery, and solving problems most people don't even know exist, this role was built for you. As a Rotor Dynamics Analyst at Centrus Energy, you'll work at the cutting edge of gas centrifuge technology-supporting systems that play a critical role in clean energy and national security. From analyzing complex rotating systems to improving real-world manufacturing performance, you'll combine deep technical expertise with hands-on engineering problem solving in an environment where innovation moves fast and every detail matters.

What You'll Do:ย 

You'll partner closely with engineering, manufacturing, and testing teams to keep high-speed rotating systems operating at peak performance. In this role, you'll analyze vibration and operational data, perform rotor dynamic modeling and simulations, support rotor balancing activities, and help troubleshoot complex equipment behavior. You'll also conduct dynamic testing, apply digital signal processing techniques, develop custom diagnostic tools, and contribute to the continuous improvement of test procedures and automation efforts. Along the way, you'll serve as a technical expert in rotor dynamics and vibration analysis while helping drive innovation across advanced centrifuge technology programs.

What You Bring:ย 

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering fieldย 
  • 5+ years of experience in rotor dynamics, vibration analysis, or related technical disciplinesย 
  • Strong knowledge of high-speed rotating machinery dynamics and system behaviorย 
  • Experience with vibration diagnostics, modal analysis, and rotating equipment troubleshootingย 
  • Proficiency in modeling and simulation of rotating systemsย 
  • Experience applying digital signal processing techniques to engineering dataย 
  • Familiarity with software development and engineering analysis tools, with Python strongly preferredย 
  • Experience using Finite Element Analysis software such as ANSYS or similar platformsย 
  • Solid understanding of mechanical vibrations and system dynamics
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a "Q" clearanceย 

A Successful Candidate Brings:

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related fieldย

Pay:
ย 
Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $74,872- $134,680. This position is Bonus eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.ย  While the posted range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position, compensation above the range may be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications and directly relevant experience.

This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.
