Job description

Our platform serves as the technology backbone for modern transit networks, transforming antiquated and siloed public transportation systems into smart, data-driven, and efficient digital networks. With hundreds of agency partners around the world, Via is recognized as the leading transportation technology and service provider globally.
We are seeking engaging, approachable, and reliable Transit Ambassadors to act as local concierges on board public transit buses operating throughout West Palm Beach. As an Ambassador, your primary role is to serve as a friendly, welcoming presence-greeting passengers, assisting with general route questions, and enhancing the overall rider experience.
This is a contractor role.
Key Responsibilities
  • Rider Engagement: Warmly greet passengers boarding and exiting the vehicle.
  • Customer Service & Information: Answer basic rider inquiries regarding bus stops, local points of interest, fare options, and mobile transit apps.
  • Onboard Atmosphere: Maintain a visible, comforting, and helpful presence to foster a positive travel environment.
  • Feedback & Reporting: Inform team leads of frequent rider questions, operational delays, or common passenger concerns.
  • Promotional Outreach: Act as a Marketing street team in the community, building service awareness

Shift Availability & Coverage Hours
Contractors are scheduled in variable morning, afternoon, or evening shifts covering the following operating hours:
  • Monday - Friday: 6:00 AM - 9:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM
  • Sunday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM

Requirements & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills with an upbeat, patient, and welcoming demeanor.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and balance comfortably on board a moving bus for extended periods (shifts up to 2-8 hours), with flexibility to sit through low demand periods and in between stops.
  • Local geography knowledge of West Palm Beach, major landmarks, and transit connections (e.g., Downtown Intermodal Center, Brightline, Tri-Rail) is a major plus.
  • Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish or English/Haitian Creole) are highly valued in the West Palm Beach market.
  • Wear professional attire, including branded West Palm Move apparel.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and eligible to work in the U.S. as an independent contractor (Form W-9/1099).
