About the Role:

As a Driver's Aide at Classic Metals Suppliers you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient transportation of materials and products. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the driver in loading, unloading, and securing cargo, which is vital for maintaining the flow of operations. You will also be responsible for conducting pre-trip inspections to ensure that all safety protocols are followed, contributing to a safe working environment. Additionally, you will assist the driver in navigating routes ensuring the safety of the cargo. Ultimately, your efforts will directly impact the productivity and success of our delivery processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the driver in loading and unloading materials and products from the vehicle.
  • Guide the driver with route navigation and help maintain delivery schedules.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries and assist in route planning.
  • Ensure the safety and security of the cargo during transit.
  • Provide excellent customer service and address client inquiries.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the vehicle.
  • Report any incidents or issues to the driver or supervisor.
  • Follow safety protocols and company procedures during transport.
  • Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment.
  • Communicate effectively with the driver and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Physical and Safety Requirements:

  • Must have physical strength and stamina to lift, carry, and move heavy materials and equipment safely and consistently throughout the shift.
  • Capable of standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures, including hot, cold, and humid conditions.
  • Ability to climb ladders or step stools and work at heights when necessary.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling materials and operating warehouse equipment.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, high-visibility vests, and back support belt (optional but recommended).
  • Must always follow all OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse machinery.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the manufacturing or logistics industry.
