Responsibilities

MV Transportation is seeking an Attendant / Bus Aide to provide assistance to operators and passengers for safe transportation as well as to monitor passenger activity on the vehicle while enroute. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist passengers on and off of vehicles to door and ensure engagement of appropriate passenger securements
  • Maintain order on vehicle during transport and proper client monitoring
  • Act as liaison between client agency personnel and operations staff, ensuring accurate attendance and delivery of clients
  • Effectively communicate problems or situations and proactively working to resolving issues that affect agency clients , caretakers and other passengers
  • Aide vehicle operator in the event of accident or passenger emergency in securing the vehicle and safety removing all passengers where necessary
  • Diffuse difficult situations in a positive manner and with respect to the needs of the passengers
  • Ensure safe and clean vehicle condition at the start and end of each shift
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch or central office personnel via two way radio
  • Assist operators in navigating and finding locations where necessary
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Reliable in attendance
  • Team player and helpful to staff, management, and peers
  • Maintain a safe work area and a focus on safety to reduce the opportunity for injury to self or other employees
Qualifications

Talent Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with passenger assistance or working with persons with disabilities
  • Monitoring passengers or groups of people in an enclosed environment
  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Map reading and directional skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

Starting pay rate: $24/hour
