Registered Veterinary Technician Needed!
Cole Park Veterinary Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician with a positive, up-beat attitude and genuine love for pets and the veterinary health profession. We are a busy 4-doctor, AAHA accredited, small animal practice that focuses on traditional medicine as well as Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine.
The ideal candidate must be a dedicated, conscientious, self-motivated veterinary technician who provides high-quality medical care and exceptional customer service. The candidate must have graduated from an AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology Program and have successfully passed the VTNE and holds a current Registration in the State of North Carolina (current licensure in other states accepted).
Veterinary Technician duties includes:
• Perform all patient treatments ordered by veterinarians including blood draws, placing IV catheters, taking radiographs, ICU care, performing lab testing, and giving injections and medications.
• Set up and maintain fluid pumps for IV fluid admisistration.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and assist with surgeries.
• Perform dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs.
• Maintain all surgery and hospital equipment, clean and wrap packs for surgery and maintain controlled substance logs.
• Admit patients to the hospital getting accurate history and vital signs.
• Collect laboratory speciments (urine via cystocentesis or free catch, skin and ear cytology, feces, and skin scrapings) and preform testing as directed.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
