Veterinary Technician

Garden Oaks Veterinary Center | Houston, TX

Full-Time | Rotating Saturdays

Garden Oaks Veterinary Center is expanding, and we're looking for a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team. Working from our modern 5,500-square-foot hospital, you'll have the opportunity to practice high-quality medicine alongside experienced veterinarians and technicians who value teamwork, compassion, and continuous learning.

Whether you're assisting in surgery, supporting appointments, or caring for hospitalized patients, every day offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of pets and their families.

In This Role, You Will
  • Partner with veterinarians during exams and medical procedures
  • Prepare patients for surgery and assist throughout surgical and dental procedures
  • Monitor anesthesia and provide attentive patient recovery care
  • Collect blood, urine, and other laboratory samples
  • Place intravenous catheters and administer treatments as directed
  • Take high-quality digital radiographs
  • Provide nursing care for hospitalized patients
  • Educate pet owners on medications, home care, and preventive health
  • Maintain complete and accurate medical records
  • Help create a clean, organized, and efficient treatment area

  • At least two years of veterinary technician experience in a clinical setting
  • An LVT credential (preferred but not required)
  • Experience with venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and patient handling
