About the job: The primary role of the Veterinary Technician is to provide excellent care to the patients of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care hospital of Las Vegas as well as assist the veterinarian with all duties.

How you'll make a difference

  • Perform all essential duties of a Veterinary Technician
  • Monitor and appropriately document patient vital signs and activity
  • Provide support to all veterinarians, often assisting more than one on your shift
  • Provide diagnostic, surgical and nursing care to all patients
  • Perform basic, emergent, and critical care anesthetic monitoring
  • Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing including but not limited to blood draws, arterial blood gas sampling, cystocentesis, urinary catheter sampling and free catch urine
  • Perform various laboratory procedures including but not limited to blood typing, cross matching, and slide agglutination testing
  • Accurately take and process abdominal, thoracic, appendicular, spinal, and skull radiographs while following appropriate radiation safety protocols
  • Properly use and maintain medical equipment
  • Provide professional client communication
  • Helps keep hospital areas clean and neat, maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Maintains client and patient confidentiality
  • Meet or exceed performance standards for work quality and productivity
  • Meet or exceed VECC expectations for attendance and punctuality
  • Act as an ambassador of VECC at all times, displaying consideration, courtesy, compassion, and professionalism

What you'll bring

  • Experience working as a Licensed Veterinary Technician within ER hospital setting or 2+ years general practice LVT experience,
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community we serve
  • Reliable, organized, and committed to provide high level care to our patients and clients
  • A craving for lifelong learning and continuous improvements
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected

Schedule:

  • Day shift needed at our main facility
  • Overnight shifts needed for our North Vegas location, set to open later this year. Anyone hired now will work at VE+CC until that time
  • Three 12-hour shifts
  • Schedule will consist of a Saturday or Sunday, depending on the needs of the clinic

Salary:

  • Day shift $25.00 - $30.00/hr
  • Overnight shift $29.00 - $34.00/hr (this range includes the $4.00/hr overnight differential)
  • Both hourly rates are based on experience
  • Relocation bonus available!
  • Sign-on bonus of $3,000 for overnight LVTs
