Central Veterinary Hospital in Fremont, CA is a well-established veterinary general practice searching for a three experienced Veterinary Assistants to join our growing team! We're offering a competitive hourly rate of $25 - 30 per hour based on experience, along with a $2,500 signing bonus for candidates who start by October 12th. These positions focus heavily on supporting veterinarians in exam rooms, assisting with patient care, and maintaining an efficient and compassionate experience for our clients.Schedule
To support work-life balance, we provide the choice of 5x8 or 4x10 shifts. Candidates must be available Monday-Friday from 7:30am - 7:30pm for scheduling purposes.Veterinary Assistant (Level 2) - $25-$27/hour
Level 2 Veterinary Assistants work with limited supervision and consistently perform essential clinical and room-support duties.
Expectations:
  • Proficiency in blood draws, patient restraint, patient histories, laboratory support, and medical documentation
  • Support veterinarians during appointments, treatments, diagnostics, and procedures
  • Manage accurate medical records using Instinct EMR
  • Support doctors with ScribbleVet, our AI-powered scribe tool
  • Prepare exam rooms, patients, equipment, and supplies
  • Monitor patients and promptly communicate concerns
  • Provide veterinarian-approved client education and home-care instructions
  • Help train and support less-experienced team members
  • At least 2 years of veterinary clinical experience
Veterinary Assistant (Level 3) - $28-$30/hour
Level 3 Veterinary Assistants are senior team members who demonstrate advanced clinical skills and serve as resources and mentors for the team.
Expectations:
  • Advanced proficiency in blood draws, patient restraint, room support, procedural preparation, and laboratory workflows
  • Mentor and train Level I and Level II Veterinary Assistants
  • Anticipate veterinarian needs and help coordinate appointment and patient flow
  • Manage accurate and complete medical records using Instinct EMR
  • Effectively support doctors with ScribbleVet, our AI-powered scribe tool
  • Confidently assist with challenging or medically compromised patients
  • Recognize and promptly communicate changes in patient condition
  • Help reinforce patient-care, safety, and infection-control standards
  • Model strong communication, accountability, and client service
  • At least 4 years of veterinary clinical experience
All candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and perform duties within the veterinary assistant scope of practice.
