We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care for animals while assisting veterinarians in various clinical procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong animal handling skills and a solid understanding of veterinary terminology, ensuring the health and well-being of our patients.
Duties
  • Perform animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both animals and staff during examinations and procedures.
  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures, utilizing aseptic techniques.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Conduct laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and fecal exams to aid in diagnosis.
  • Handle dogs and cats with care, ensuring their comfort and safety during visits.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient visit.
  • Prepare animals for surgery and assist in post-operative care as needed.
  • Provide education to pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines while adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications
  • NYS License in Veterinary Technology is required.
