Veterinary Practice Manager
2-Time Innovetive Petcare Culture Award Winner
Locust Valley Veterinary Clinic | Locust Valley, NY

Are you an experienced veterinary professional ready to take the next step in your leadership career? Locust Valley Veterinary Clinic, a proud 2-Time Innovetive Petcare Culture Award Winner, is looking for a compassionate, collaborative, and hands-on Veterinary Practice Manager to help lead our exceptional team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing leadership with patient care and believes that a thriving hospital starts with a supported team and an outstanding client experience. While LVT licensure is not required, candidates should have previous veterinary hospital experience, strong clinical knowledge, and a passion for developing people and creating positive hospital culture.
Position Overview
As our Veterinary Practice Manager, you'll partner closely with the Managing Veterinarian and hospital leadership to oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice while serving as a visible, supportive presence for the team.
This is a true hands-on leadership role where you'll have the opportunity to:
  • Lead and inspire a collaborative, high-performing team
  • Support daily hospital operations and workflow efficiency
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members
  • Assist on the treatment floor as needed to support patient care
  • Foster an exceptional client experience from check-in to discharge
  • Help maintain a positive, engaging workplace culture built on teamwork, accountability, and compassion
  • Partner with leadership to achieve hospital goals while maintaining the highest standards of patient care

If you're energized by mentoring others, solving problems, and creating an environment where both people and pets thrive, we'd love to meet you.
  • Oversee daily operations of a small animal veterinary clinic.
  • Support hospital workflow, scheduling, and team coordination.
  • Assist on the floor with patient handling, restraint, and workflow support as needed.
  • Partner with the MDVM to manage staffing, scheduling, and performance.
  • Help drive client experience initiatives and client service standards.
  • Support administrative functions, including payroll coordination, inventory oversight, and hospital procedures.
  • Coach, support, and mentor team members.
  • Identify process improvements and help optimize hospital efficiency.
  • Act as a bridge between leadership and the hospital team.
  • Minimum 3+ years experience in a veterinary hospital or clinic (required).
  • Strong Veterinary Assistant or Technician skills: patient handling, assisting doctors/techs, treatment support, and clinic workflow.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary clinic operations and hospital flow.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team leadership skills.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and calm under pressure.
  • Experience with practice management software is a plus.
  • LVT license welcome but not required.
What We Offer
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Competitive compensation ($28-35/h)
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Employee pet care discounts
  • Ongoing training and career development
  • Opportunities for growth within a supportive team environment
