Job Description
Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Schedule: Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Assignment Details:
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours per two-week pay period
Requirements:
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Recent emergency nurse experience
- Recent (within the past 5 years) acute care hospital experience
- SAFE class or organization approved workplace violence training or obtain within 6 months of hire (preferred)
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support card or obtain within 6 months of hire (preferred)
- American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support or Emergency Nurses Association Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course card or obtain within 1 year of hire (preferred)
- Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) card for initial certification or obtain within 1 year of hire (preferred)
- National certification in emergency nursing (CEN or equivalent) preferred (preferred)
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Apply the nursing process to the care of patients.
- Teach patients and significant others about health management and care.
- Document patient care accurately in the medical record.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate overall care of the patient.
- Respond effectively to patient crises and emergency situations.
- Maintain punctual attendance at the assigned job location.
