Position Summary

The Professional Field Services Veterinarian serves as Contura Vet's field-based clinical and scientific expert, supporting the company's portfolio of innovative veterinary therapies. This role partners closely with Veterinary Services, Commercial, Marketing, and external veterinary professionals to provide evidence-based education, technical support, and scientific exchange that advances appropriate product utilization and improves patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include delivering clinical education and training, supporting field-based scientific exchange, contributing veterinary expertise to product lifecycle initiatives, developing technical resources, fostering relationships with key veterinary stakeholders, and supporting pharmacovigilance activities while ensuring accurate, compliant communication across all field engagements.

Key Responsibilities Scientific & Clinical Expertise

Serve as the primary field-based technical and scientific expert supporting Contura Vet's portfolio of innovative veterinary therapies, providing expert guidance on disease management, patient selection, product utilization, procedural best practices, and clinical outcomes.

Provide expert guidance on patient selection, diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, product dosing, procedural techniques, and outcome optimization appropriate to the company's therapeutic portfolio.

Veterinary Education & Training

Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs for internal teams and veterinary customers focused on the safe and effective use of Contura Vet's product portfolio and associated clinical procedures, including anatomy, aseptic technique, injection procedures, procedural approaches, product preparation, handling, and complication management.

Educate veterinary teams on post-injection and long-term patient management, including monitoring of clinical response, activity or workload modification, rehabilitation planning, adjunctive therapies, owner/client communication, and expectation management.

Support the development and delivery of high-quality continuing education programs, including lectures, wet labs, and hands-on workshops at conferences, professional meetings, and industry events. Develop educational content that supports sound clinical decision-making, procedural competency, and the appropriate use of Contura Vet's therapies.

Field Support & Collaboration

Provide in-field clinical support and guidance to commercial teams, reinforcing scientific credibility and appropriate product utilization across veterinary practices and referral centers.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders across sales, marketing, medical, regulatory, and research teams to ensure consistent, accurate, compliant, and scientifically sound messaging.

Product Development & Lifecycle Support

Contribute veterinary expertise to product lifecycle initiatives through interpretation of clinical and scientific evidence, identification of unmet clinical needs, and support of future product development and portfolio expansion.

Assist in the development and refinement of therapeutic positioning, treatment guidelines, and clinical protocols relevant to the company's therapeutic portfolio and commercial strategy.

Technical Documentation & Knowledge Resources

Support the development and maintenance of technical resources, including clinical guides, injection protocols, technical bulletins, FAQs, competitive analyses, scientific summaries, and field-based educational tools.

Stay current on emerging therapies, industry trends, scientific literature, and regulatory developments related to relevant disease states, therapeutic areas, clinical procedures, emerging technologies, and veterinary medical practice.

Professional Engagement & Thought Leadership

Develop and maintain strategic relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), referral specialists, academic institutions, veterinary organizations, and other influential stakeholders to strengthen Contura Vet's scientific credibility within the veterinary profession.

Support clinical research initiatives, field trials, publications, scientific presentations, and scientific exchange activities related to Contura Vet's therapeutic portfolio and areas of clinical focus.

Pharmacovigilance & Compliance

Support field based pharmacovigilance activities by responding to technical product inquiries, recognizing and documenting adverse events, and collaborating with internal medical and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.

Required Qualifications

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) degree from an accredited veterinary college or university.

Board certification or advanced training in surgery, sports medicine and rehabilitation, lameness, orthopedics, or a related discipline is highly desirable.

Minimum of five years of clinical veterinary experience with demonstrated expertise in one or more disciplines relevant to Contura Vet's portfolio, including orthopedics, surgery, sports medicine, rehabilitation, internal medicine, or other applicable clinical specialties.

Demonstrated understanding of the animal health industry and the application of clinical evidence to veterinary practice.

Previous experience in Veterinary Services, Medical Affairs, or a comparable field-based scientific role is highly desirable.

Exceptional communication, presentation, and teaching skills, with a proven ability to translate complex scientific and clinical concepts into practical, customer-focused education and guidance.
