Position Summary The Maintenance Lead manages our team of maintenance workers, maintains equipment and facilities, and ensures compliance with all company, state and federal policies and regulations. The Maintenance Lead will coordinate with plant production employees to successfully and safely execute our work plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise: Direct maintenance staff, assign tasks, and ensure jobs are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Safety: mentor, coach, and train our maintenance staff in our safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain: oversee and perform routine preventative maintenance, repairs and inspections to minimize downtime
  • Problem Solve: troubleshoot equipment issues and identify solutions, collaborating with maintenance technicians, supervision, production, and management
  • Plan: collaborate with management and planning to successfully develop and execute maintenance plans
  • Inventory Management: learn and utilize our computerized maintenance management system for creation of and closing of work orders, and materials utilization
  • Safety Management: learn and utilize our digital safety management platform

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Sufficient education or experience, to troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative mechanical maintenance on plant systems, including pumps, conveyors, screens, all rotating equipment and structure or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills, and characteristics
  • ability to complete written documentation and records
  • ability to perform complex mathematical equations using fractions and decimals, safely use hand tools, power tools, fine measuring tools, laser alignment tools, and other labor tools
  • Senior level maintenance skills sufficient to inspect equipment and complete repairs
  • Ability to apply mechanical knowledge and experience to a wide variety of situations, recommend solutions to complex problems
  • Effective communication skills: ability to speak, read and write in English, having the ability to be able to communicate in Spanish will be an advantage
  • Must be a team player with high level self-motivation requiring minimal supervision
  • Willingness to work any shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays as nature of plant schedule may fluctuate.
  • Ability to wear a respirator, safety harness and all other required personal protective equipment
  • Ability to work outdoors and be exposed to the elements
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time; grip, climb, reach, shovel, squat, crawl, pull and push
  • Ability to safely lift, move, or position up to 50lbs
  • Must be authorized to work in the US and be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to wear a respirator and other required personal protective equipment.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
