Take your marine engineering experience shore-side and support major U.S. Government vessel operations from Houston.
This is an opportunity to work on maintenance, repairs, and major overhauls of U.S. Government-owned vessels while gaining exposure to global marine operations, shipyards, and complex government and military projects.
Why this opportunity stands out:
• Work supporting MARAD, Navy, and MSC operations
• Exposure to RORO, sealift, heavy-lift, and special-mission vessels
• Work on major vessel maintenance and overhaul projects
• Join an organization with 45+ years of maritime experience
• Work within a safety and quality-focused environment guided by ISO/ISM standards
• Gain experience with complex shipyard, regulatory, and vessel-management operations
What you'll be doing:
• Support maintenance, repairs, and vessel overhauls
• Monitor and analyze ship performance
• Assist with shipyard dry-docking and other marine engineering projects
• Support TRANSALT development and fleet special projects
• Help prepare work specifications and cost estimates for repairs, overhauls, conversions, and construction
• Support regulatory compliance and vessel management
• Maintain and improve Integrated Management System processes
What you'll need:
• At least 2 years of experience in the U.S. commercial or government maritime industry in a shore-side or shipboard engineering role
• U.S. citizenship
• Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain a government-issued security clearance
• Qualifying Port Engineer, shipboard engineering, or combined education and experience that demonstrates the ability to manage complex vessel repair and overhaul projects
• Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or related education may qualify as part of the combined experience pathway
A USCG 2nd Assistant Engineer license or higher is preferred.
If you're ready to bring your marine engineering experience into a role supporting major U.S. Government vessel operations, this could be the next move for you.
