Job Title:  Manager, Audience Development, Social & Video - WSB TV

Position Overview

WSB-TV, one of the top newsrooms in the nation, is seeking a Manager of Audience Development for Video & Social Media to lead the newsroom's strategy for growing engagement across social and digital platforms, vertical video, and streaming products.

This role partners directly with reporters, anchors, producers, assignment editors, and digital teams to expand audience reach and strengthen connections between social platforms, WSB-TV newscasts, and

streaming channels.

The ideal candidate understands how to turn breaking news, enterprise reporting, and community storytelling into platform-native video experiences that grow loyalty and drive measurable audience behavior across broadcast, digital, and OTT.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead newsroom strategy for Instagram Facebook video, Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, YouTube, and emerging platforms
  • Identify daily opportunities for reporters and anchors to create vertical-first storytelling extensions and other video elements
  • Work directly with reporters and anchors to grow their individual audience impact
  • Ensure social content supports broadcast tune-in and streaming growth
  • Collaborate with producers and leadership to expand reach of WSB-TV streaming newscasts and live coverage
  • Identify opportunities to convert social viewers into streaming viewers
  • Support promotion of live breaking news across platforms in real time
  • Partner on strategies that extend reporter storytelling into OTT and continuous coverage environments
  • Provide guidance on framing stories for social platforms
  • Establish consistent posting strategies aligned with newsroom priorities
  • Build confidence and participation across experience levels  
  • Develop approaches that move audiences from social and digital platforms to linear newscasts and live streams
  • Oversees and executes short and long-term strategies to maximize engagement on all media platforms
  • Produce digital content, articles, and support the content center team
  • Understand and contribute to all content center operations
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
  • 2+ years managing newsroom social platforms or audience strategy
  • Demonstrated success growing engagement through vertical video
  • Experience working in breaking-news environments
  • Strong editorial judgment
  • Experience analyzing platform performance metrics
  • Ability to collaborate across newsroom roles and priorities
