Mobile Generation, the fastest-growing Verizon Wireless Retailer in the Midwest, is currently looking for a Reconciliation Specialist to join our team. The Reconciliation Specialist for Mobile Generation will be responsible for ensuring that transactions processed through the POS system are properly reflected in the company’s financial records. This individual will investigate discrepancies between what is recorded in the system and what was actually paid. You’ll be the driving force behind resolving these discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner, as well as offering actionable solutions to prevent similar issues in the future.

This role will require strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with different departments, including the frontline team, to ensure that issues are addressed promptly and effectively.

  • Discrepancy Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations to determine the root cause of discrepancies between POS reports and actual payments. Analyze each issue to uncover whether the cause is system-related, human error, or operational inefficiency.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports on discrepancies, including explanations, trends, and the impact of each issue. Regularly submit reconciliation summaries to management, highlighting unresolved issues and progress in resolution. Maintain accurate records for compliance and audit purposes.
  • Issue Resolution amp; Communication: Collaborate with the finance and operations teams to resolve discrepancies efficiently. Work closely with front-line staff to identify process gaps and ensure that proper procedures are being followed. Provide guidance on resolving operational issues and improving transaction accuracy.
  • Trend Analysis: Monitor recurring discrepancies, identifying any patterns or systemic issues. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to mitigate frequent discrepancies and improve overall accuracy.
