Job description

Field Technician II -New Orleans, LA(Contract)
Join a leading global telecommunications technology company supporting a high-profile Verizon wireless network deployment in New Orleans, Louisiana. This is a contract opportunity for a Field Technician II with strong hands-on experience in wireless network installations, integration, commissioning, and troubleshooting, preferably with Samsung wireless equipment.
This role offers the opportunity to work on next-generation wireless infrastructure alongside experienced R&D, RF Engineering, Core Networking, and Program Management teams. If you enjoy field work, solving technical challenges, and supporting large-scale network deployments, this position provides valuable experience with leading wireless technologies while expanding your expertise in Samsung network equipment and multi-vendor environments.
Contract Duration: 6-12 Months
Required Skills & Experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in the wireless telecommunications industry
  • Hands-on field experience with equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting
  • Experience installing, integrating, and commissioning wireless network equipment
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills
  • Experience supporting LTE/VoLTE wireless deployments
  • Working knowledge of base station equipment (Samsung preferred; Ericsson or Alcatel Lucent acceptable)
  • Experience installing and integrating Cisco CSR routers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction Certification
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Previous Samsung wireless equipment experience
  • Experience supporting Verizon wireless deployment projects
  • Knowledge of CDMA/EVDO technologies
  • Experience with T-1, ATM backbone, and microwave backhaul transmission
  • Experience supporting RMA tracking and documentation
  • Peer training or mentoring experience
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to thrive in fast-paced field environments
